Senior UX Designer/Developer Overview

Company Name Ping Identity
Job Role Senior UX Designer/Developer
Qualifications Not Specified
Category IT Jobs
Job Type Full Time
Location Rest of UK

Ping Identity is seeking a senior-level UX Design Developer to join its UX team in a UK-based remote role. This position sits at the intersection of user experience design and frontend prototyping, combining design thinking with hands-on coding. The company emphasizes building secure, seamless digital experiences and describes its mission as enabling digital freedom while protecting individual identities. The role is intended for someone who enjoys using code as a design tool to explore ideas, test interactions, and influence product direction, rather than treating code only as a final implementation step.

In this role, you would help shape the experiences customers use to discover, configure, manage, and get value from Ping Identity’s products. You would work closely with designers, product managers, researchers, and engineers to turn ideas into interactive prototypes, validate concepts, and support high-quality implementation across products and related customer experiences. The team is also looking for someone excited by the growing overlap between design, implementation, modern frontend tooling, and AI-native workflows.

What you would do

  • Create coded prototypes of interactive user experiences to explore ideas, communicate concepts, and test assumptions.
  • Rapidly build prototype workflows, interactions, and usability concepts before full implementation begins.
  • Design experiences for complex enterprise SaaS products as well as the supporting customer journeys around them.
  • Partner with product managers, UX researchers, designers, and engineers to define needs and help shape product direction.
  • Stay engaged with engineering during development so the delivered experience is implemented with strong quality and close attention to detail.
  • Review implementations and speak up for design quality to help ensure the final product reflects the original intent.
  • Make design decisions by balancing user needs, accessibility, technical constraints, and business priorities.
  • Use modern design tools to explore concepts, communicate visual direction, and contribute to the design system.
  • Build prototypes using current frontend technologies such as React, Vue, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Help evolve the design system, reusable interface patterns, and coded component libraries.
  • Use AI-native design and development tools to speed up ideation, generate realistic prototype data, create interactive experiences, and compare multiple design directions.
  • Design and prototype AI-assisted product experiences such as conversational interfaces, guided configuration flows, and intelligent recommendations.
  • Support and grow Ping’s design culture by promoting thoughtful UX practices.
  • Offer constructive feedback and mentor other designers through critique and collaboration.

What the company is looking for

  • A bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related subject, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least four years of experience in UX design, frontend development, or a hybrid role that combines both.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates both strong UX design thinking and interactive prototypes built in code.
  • Advanced ability with modern UX design tools and component-based design systems.
  • Experience building interactive applications with React, Vue, or similar modern frontend frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, responsive design, and frontend best practices.
  • Experience using code as a prototyping medium, not just as a production implementation tool.
  • Experience working with component-based design systems and frontend component libraries.
  • Solid understanding of accessibility standards and WCAG guidance.
  • Strong interaction design skills and a sharp eye for visual detail.
  • Ability to communicate design decisions and technical tradeoffs clearly to designers, engineers, and product managers.
  • Experience using AI-native tools and workflows to accelerate design, prototyping, or frontend development.
  • Curiosity about emerging interaction patterns for AI-powered products and experiences.

Preferred background

  • Experience designing enterprise SaaS products.
  • Experience in identity, authentication, or cybersecurity.
  • Professional experience that includes both UX design and frontend engineering.
  • Familiarity with AI-native design and development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, v0, or similar tools.
