Service Management – Senior Consultant Overview

Company Name Capgemini
Job Role Service Management – Senior Consultant
Qualifications Not Specified
Category Healthcare Jobs
Job Type Full Time
Location London

This role sits within Capgemini Invent’s Cloud Advisory capability, which is part of the wider Business Technology organisation. The team helps clients use cloud to support new business models, speed up growth, meet regulatory obligations, and lower their carbon footprint. The position is for an experienced consulting professional who can lead service management transformation work, advise clients on modern operating models, and contribute to practice growth.

What you will do

  • Lead the design and delivery of stronger service management capabilities, processes, and operating models that are aligned with ITIL v4, DevOps, and Agile practices, with the aim of improving innovation, responsiveness, service quality, and cost control.
  • Help clients modernise their service management approach by looking across governance, skills, culture, tooling, and organisational structure, rather than focusing on only one part of the model.
  • Apply SIAM and Lean thinking to improve multi-vendor environments and to make better use of ITSM platforms, particularly where cloud integration is part of the target landscape.
  • Create practical cloud transition roadmaps and define interim states that support movement from on-premise environments to hybrid and multi-cloud operating models.
  • Embed automation into service management design, tooling, and processes, using an AI-first mindset to create measurable value and operational efficiency.
  • Support sustainable transformation work and help grow the consulting practice through business development and internal contribution.
  • Contribute to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, and client pitch preparation, and support client hosting at events.
  • Take part in internal practice-building work such as campaign development, think-tanks, whitepapers, offering development, recruitment support, and team activities.
  • Engage in learning and development activity, including training and certifications, to strengthen your own skills and meet future business demand.
  • Work with clients and internal teams to shape ideas, build strategy, and support delivery of transformation programmes from concept through execution.

What the role requires

  • Practical experience creating and implementing service management frameworks based on ITIL v4.
  • Experience improving ITSM tooling, defining operating models, and driving automation across IT and business processes.
  • Confidence in client-facing consulting work, including business case development, commercial activity, and business development support.
  • A proven history of leading advisory engagements, managing teams, and building trusted relationships with both clients and colleagues.
  • Strong influencing skills that help support sales generation and successful delivery.
  • Experience with cloud centres of excellence, SIAM models, AI optimisation, and hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, Lean, and Agile methods and how they apply to service management transformation.
  • Experience in a consulting firm, or in an industry role with a service management background, would be helpful.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organisation and to win support from peers when selling and delivering consulting solutions.
  • Experience in proposition building and delivery is an advantage.
  • Business development experience that uses existing relationships, wider company relationships, and your own network is also beneficial.
  • This is an experienced-level position rather than a junior role.

What you can expect from working here

  • Client engagements that give you direct access to senior leadership and experienced consulting managers, allowing you to learn from them, challenge ideas, and build your own delivery capability.
  • Exposure to how compelling client propositions are developed and how high-profile transformation programmes are structured and led.
  • Practical experience with leading technologies and the opportunity to take work from an initial idea through to strategy and execution.
  • Formal training delivered by experts in management consulting and client delivery.
  • Access to learning and certification opportunities through internal and partner-led programmes with organisations such as AWS, Google, ServiceNow, and Microsoft.
  • Use of Les Fontaines, Capgemini Invent’s training environment near Paris, where teams can focus on thought leadership, knowledge sharing, and capability building.
  • Monthly showcases of digital transformation initiatives that highlight how technology is helping clients.
  • Regular opportunities to connect with colleagues, including monthly team drinks, leadership connect sessions, and team away days.
  • A workplace that emphasises inclusion, wellbeing, and a healthy work-life balance.
  • Flexible working arrangements are part of the company’s normal approach, and all UK employees can request them.
  • Wellbeing support through trained Mental Health Champions and wellbeing apps such as Thrive and Peppy.
  • As a Disability Confident Employer at Level 2, the company will offer an interview to candidates who declare a disability and meet the minimum essential criteria, provided they opt in during the application process.
