This role sits within Amazon Business Payments and focuses on portfolio management for pay-by-invoice and lending products. The position is a senior individual-contributor role reporting to the Head of EU Credit Strategy. It is designed for someone who can lead credit performance strategy for the UK and EU lending portfolios and help determine how capital is deployed to support small business growth across Europe. The work combines risk management, growth strategy, product thinking, and technical collaboration, with a strong emphasis on responsible lending at scale.
What you will do
- Own the credit strategy for the full customer lifecycle across the UK and EU lending portfolios, with direct influence over portfolio growth and the pace at which the lending business can scale.
- Lead the portfolio risk and performance approach for Amazon Business Paymentsâ lending activity, balancing growth goals with disciplined risk management and customer capital needs.
- Partner with Science teams to develop new product features, define model rule sets, and improve automated credit decisioning using AI and machine learning.
- Work across Product, Technology, Science, and Business teams to drive change, align priorities, and move strategic initiatives forward through influence.
- Spot opportunities for innovation, design experiments, and help create payment experiences that are better for customers.
- Define, monitor, and explain portfolio performance metrics to senior leadership, while taking ownership of the business goals and results tied to those metrics.
- Help build and evolve the systems and infrastructure that support responsible lending at Amazon scale.
- Operate as an individual contributor rather than a people manager, while still playing a leadership role across the organization.

- Experience working with senior stakeholders and influencing leadership decisions in structured or layered environments.
Preferred background
- A masterâs degree.
- Experience in internal audit, risk management, or a similar equivalent background.
