The position is for an experienced technical business analyst consultant who can connect business needs with technology, architecture, and data to shape solutions that are robust, scalable, and aligned to client outcomes.
You will be joining a collaborative group that values user-centred design, critical thinking, problem solving, and the creation of digital services and products. The work spans multiple industries and includes everything from supporting critical national infrastructure used by large numbers of people to helping develop proof-of-concepts that test new ideas and technologies. What you will do

- Use knowledge of software architecture and back-end frameworks to define technical requirements and help steer solution design.
- Support CI/CD delivery by applying understanding of IT delivery frameworks and DevOps practices.
- Carry out system and data analysis to identify pain points, improvement opportunities, and areas that should influence decision-making.
- Help manage product roadmaps, backlog refinement, and prioritisation in partnership with product owners, developers, architects, and QATs.
- Support end-to-end delivery from research and solution design through development, testing, and release.
- Build, refine, and prioritise agile backlogs for technical implementation.
- Adapt to different delivery approaches, including Scrum, SAFe, and Waterfall.
- Contribute to the growth of the capability and the wider community through knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Work effectively in fast-paced environments where priorities can change and ambiguity is part of the role.
What you need
- Experience in the technical design and development of technology-based products.
- Experience working with technical architecture and producing technical documentation.
- Experience with data analysis, data modelling, and visualisation tools such as SQL, Excel, Tableau, and Power BI.
- Willingness to work with database schemas and perform data manipulation tasks such as cleaning, transforming, and aggregating data.
- Ability to support delivery across the full lifecycle, from research and solution design through to development, testing, and release.
- Ability to create, refine, and prioritise an agile backlog for technical implementation.
- Comfort working with different delivery methodologies, including Scrum, SAFe, and Waterfall.
- Interest in helping grow capability and contribute to community development.
- Ability to work in a fast-moving environment with ambiguity and shifting priorities.
Desirable experience
- Experience in sectors such as public sector, utilities, financial services, consumer products, or retail.
- Experience supporting internal activities such as recruitment, client development, mentoring, or training.
- Professional certifications in business analysis, agile delivery, or technical areas.
- Awareness of emerging trends in AI, automation, and data-driven technology delivery.

- Experience working with or alongside data scientists, data engineers, or analytics teams.
- Understanding of how data supports AI solutions, including data quality, pipelines, and modelling concepts.
- Experience with generative AI tools such as copilots, automation tools, or content and code generation tools.
- Familiarity with using AI tools to support analysis, documentation, or technical design.
- Awareness of AI ethics, governance, and responsible use.
