This is a permanent, full-time remote role for candidates based in the UK or Ireland. It sits within Nearform’s Transformation Office and is focused on helping the business become an AI-native organisation. The position is designed for a senior transformation leader who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, bringing together programme governance, workforce planning, talent strategy, and cultural change. A major part of the remit is to help shape and establish Nearform’s AI Centre of Excellence in Ireland while supporting change across Delivery, Go-to-Market, and back office functions.

About the company and the context for the role

Nearform is a global digital engineering consultancy working with ambitious organisations to design, build, and scale digital products and platforms. The company is currently undergoing its own AI-native engineering transformation, and the Transformation Office is central to that effort. The office is responsible for coordinating strategic and operational change across the business so that the Delivery and GTM organisations are structured, equipped, and empowered to operate in an AI-native way, while shared services and other internal functions also adopt AI to improve efficiency.

This role works closely with leaders across Delivery, People & Talent, GTM, shared services, and the executive team. It is a high-impact position for someone who can lead complex transformation work across multiple parts of the organisation and help turn strategy into practical execution.

What you will do

  • Lead the programme management effort for the Transformation Office, helping define clear structures, governance, and operating rhythms for the wider transformation agenda.
  • Own the integrated plan across all transformation workstreams and keep track of dependencies, risks, milestones, and delivery progress.
  • Provide executive-level updates, insight, and reporting so senior leaders can understand progress, blockers, and the decisions that need to be made.
  • Build and embed change management practices that support long-term adoption of new ways of working across the organisation.
  • Coordinate and drive complex transformation programmes that cut across functions and require close collaboration between multiple teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Work in partnership with Delivery leadership, People & Talent, GTM teams, shared services, and the executive team to keep transformation activity aligned and moving forward.
  • Help plan and establish Nearform’s AI Centre of Excellence in Ireland.
  • Support workforce planning and talent strategy so that organisational capability matches the company’s AI transformation goals.
  • Contribute to the adoption of AI across internal functions, including back office operations, so the business can realise efficiency gains.

Experience and background needed

  • At least 10 years of experience leading large-scale transformation programmes in technology, consulting, or digital services environments.
  • A strong history of delivering complex change programmes that involve multiple functions and stakeholders, ideally including engineering or technology transformation at scale.
  • Experience in workforce planning and talent strategy, with the ability to translate business priorities into people, capability, and organisational plans.
  • Exposure to AI, machine learning, or AI-native engineering concepts, and the ability to engage credibly with engineering leaders on these topics.
  • Experience from a digital consultancy, technology services business, or fast-growing product company is highly desirable.

Skills and personal qualities

  • Excellent programme management ability, with the confidence to manage complexity, multiple workstreams, and competing priorities while keeping momentum.
  • A strategic approach combined with strong operational discipline, allowing you to turn vision into delivery-ready plans.
  • Strong data literacy, including the ability to interpret workforce, utilisation, and transformation metrics to support decision-making.
  • Advanced use of AI tools and the ability to apply AI in different areas of work.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and communicate effectively with engineering teams.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous and fast-moving environments, with resilience and persistence when driving change.
  • A collaborative leadership style that builds trust quickly, demonstrates high emotional intelligence, and brings people along through change.

Why this role may appeal to you

This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of strategy and execution in a company that is actively reshaping itself around AI-native engineering. You would be helping guide a major internal transformation with visible executive support and genuine autonomy. The role also offers the chance to work in a globally distributed, highly collaborative environment with a strong engineering culture and a focus on openness, pragmatic delivery, and continuous improvement.

Benefits and perks

  • An annual company bonus tied to overall company performance, with employees sharing in profits each year.
  • Remote and flexible working arrangements that support work-life balance.
  • 24 days of annual leave, plus public holidays, sick leave, marriage leave, and additional leave types.
  • A remote working allowance of up to €1,250 every two years to help set up a comfortable and productive workspace, alongside equipment provided by Nearform when you join.
  • Support for learning and professional development through a training and development allowance, subject to manager approval.
  • Private healthcare coverage.
  • Pension matching of up to 5%, plus income protection and death-in-service cover.

  • A one-hour interview with the Chief Transformation Officer.
  • A 90-minute panel interview on Zoom.
  • A final 45-minute conversation with the Managing Director for the region to discuss the role, Nearform’s strategy, and any remaining questions.
