This role sits within Deloitteâs Workday Financial Management practice in the Enterprise Applications area of Technology & Transformation. The team supports clients with finance transformation by combining advisory insight, functional design and delivery capability across Workday implementations. You will be working with business leaders and technical teams to design and deliver technology-enabled finance solutions that improve performance, reduce cost and support innovation at enterprise scale. The work spans the full journey from strategy and process design through to technology enablement, with a focus on simplifying complex business challenges and creating measurable value for clients.
What you will do
- Take part in both advisory and delivery engagements, supporting clients from early transformation thinking through to the delivery of Workday projects.
- Help clients define and shape transformation strategies, then support the full lifecycle of Workday implementation work.
- Translate business needs into Workday configuration across key finance areas including general ledger, supplier accounts, customer accounts, banking and expenses.
- Work with clients to design their target solution architecture and end-to-end business processes so they can be enabled through Workday technology.
- Lead workshops with executive and senior stakeholders, challenge assumptions where needed, and turn business objectives into practical Workday design choices.
- Support the creation of functional designs, prototyping and process design for Workday finance implementations.
- Provide understanding and guidance around Workday transactional data flows and contribute to data migration activities.
- Plan and deliver the agreed scope and outputs for the team while keeping an eye on delivery risks in ERP programmes.
- Build trusted client relationships through clear communication and strong stakeholder management.
- Work collaboratively within an inclusive team and help develop other team members both formally and informally.
- Contribute to Deloitteâs wider Technology & Transformation and Enterprise Applications work, helping clients achieve value from finance, supply chain and IT transformation investments.
What Deloitte is looking for
- Experience in ERP, EPM and cloud computing, including knowledge of storage, platforms and data.
- Relevant experience in finance technology or a closely related area.
- Practical finance transformation experience involving Workday.
- Ability to turn business requirements into detailed system, application or process designs that cover both functional and non-functional needs.
- Good understanding of Workday transactional data flows and the ability to support data migration work.
- Experience designing or implementing ERP systems.
- Ideally, certification in Workday Finance, FDM and Engagement Manager.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to organise work, manage scope and deliverables, and keep the team on track.
- Confidence in managing stakeholders and building strong client relationships through clear communication.
- Awareness of risk in ERP delivery projects.
- Ability to work effectively in an inclusive team and support the development of individuals and teams.
- At least two end-to-end Workday implementations.
Preferred experience and strengths
- At least one active Workday Finance certification, such as R2R, P2P or Accounting Centre.
- Knowledge of modern automation approaches, continuous integration and deployment, and cloud-based delivery models.
- Comfort discussing technical matters with business stakeholders and business issues with technical audiences.
- Ability to explain complex ideas in simple, accessible language for broader audiences.
- Skill in shaping a compelling message and adapting it to different audiences.
- Business domain or industry knowledge.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including teams and clients spread across different locations.
- Strong cross-functional project management, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent presentation skills, especially when turning business requirements into information models.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Leadership qualities and the ability to work independently.
- Experience in consulting, professional services or a similar environment.

Working pattern
You will be based in a UK office and work under a hybrid model. Depending on the needs of the role, you may work from your local office, client sites, virtual collaboration spaces and from home.
