AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for designing, planning, delivering, and operating the global infrastructure that powers AWS. The team supports data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling systems that keep customer services available. This work sits in a complex environment with many moving parts, and the organization is looking for people who want to help solve difficult problems at scale while working with a broad mix of specialists across software, hardware, networking, supply chain, security, and operations.

The Global Data Center Supply Solutions group is hiring a Portfolio Manager to join the Strategic Portfolio Management team in London or Dublin. This is a significant role within AWS’s fast-growing infrastructure presence across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The position focuses on managing the acquisition strategy for a portfolio of owned sites, reducing risk, helping projects land on time and within budget, and acting as the real-estate decision-maker after infrastructure has been handed over. The role also requires close partnership with internal teams and outside stakeholders to ensure support before and after acquisition stays aligned with wider business goals.

What you will do

  • Support the pre-acquisition process by reviewing title reports, due diligence results, and site documentation, then using that information to help define the acquisition strategy and the budget needed for leadership approval.
  • Manage the full acquisition lifecycle, including work before and after purchase such as arranging essential site services, coordinating operational schedules, overseeing property tax responsibilities, and making sure liability obligations are met.
  • Contribute to financial planning for owned sites by providing inputs for operating plan work and monitoring actual spend against contractual commitments and approved budgets.
  • Lead strategic real-estate decisions for operational data center locations, including negotiating easements, rights of use, and other land agreements raised by external parties that could affect site operations.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships across functions, aligning internal teams and external partners so work moves forward smoothly and results are delivered.
  • Maintain visibility across the portfolio by keeping tracking tools and dashboards up to date and regularly sharing risks, issues, and opportunities with leadership.

What AWS says about the team and culture

AWS emphasizes that people with different backgrounds and career paths are welcome to apply, including candidates whose experience is non-traditional or still developing. The company highlights a culture that values curiosity, learning, and inclusion, and it points to employee-led affinity groups and company-sponsored events as part of that environment. It also describes ongoing learning opportunities, mentorship, and career-growth support intended to help employees develop professionally.

The organization also states that it values work-life harmony and aims to support flexibility so employees can succeed at work without sacrificing life outside of work. In addition, Amazon notes that it provides accommodations or adjustments for candidates and employees with disabilities during the hiring process, including support for interviews and onboarding where needed.

Required background

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Real Estate, or another closely related field.
  • Experience in commercial real estate or lease administration within an industrial, commercial, or data center environment.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors.

Preferred experience

  • Ability to read and interpret lease language.
  • Experience tracking important lease dates.
  • Experience supporting or carrying out lease negotiations.
