AWS is looking for a Solutions Architect to work with some of the world’s leading telecommunications companies as they pursue major cloud transformation programs. This role sits in the AWS Telco business and focuses on helping customers solve complex challenges across enterprise IT modernization, data and generative AI, cybersecurity, 5G monetization, digital customer journeys, and OSS/BSS transformation. The position makes use of the full range of AWS capabilities, including AI/ML, edge computing, IoT, and advanced analytics, to design practical solutions for telecom-specific business and technical needs.

What you will do

  • Work directly with telecom customers, AWS internal teams, and AWS partners to design and deliver solutions that address the combined information technology and operational technology challenges found in telecom environments.
  • Serve as the main owner of the AWS technology direction for your assigned customer and account team, helping to increase AWS adoption.
  • Connect technical choices to measurable business outcomes, while evaluating risk, balancing trade-offs, and encouraging well-judged experimentation where it can increase customer value.
  • Keep a long-term view of business, product, and technical results when shaping customer solutions and strategy.
  • Understand customer business goals and turn them into solutions that are cost-conscious, secure, and sustainable.
  • Partner closely with account managers, partners, and support teams to help deliver an excellent customer experience.
  • Create and publish content for external audiences as part of the role.

What AWS is looking for

  • Solid knowledge of software development tools and development practices.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing, and to understand written English well.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: cloud architecture, systems design, software development, infrastructure architecture, data engineering, or DevOps.
  • Working knowledge and practical literacy in generative AI.
  • A technical degree such as computer science, mathematics, or engineering, or equivalent hands-on technical experience.
  • A strong interest in technology and a willingness to keep learning.

Preferred background

  • Experience in software development or internet-based industries.
  • Experience migrating legacy customer solutions to the cloud or transforming them for cloud use.
  • Experience using AWS services from a development and operations point of view.
