Avanti Recruitment is working with a growing technology company that develops infrastructure software for enterprise customers operating in regulated industries. The business is looking for a product engineer who can take responsibility for difficult technical challenges, make strong architectural choices, and build systems that perform reliably at scale.
What the role involves
- Taking ownership of important areas of the productâs architecture and helping guide the technical direction of the platform.
- Designing and delivering core features that have a direct commercial impact.
- Building backend services that can support high volumes, complex behaviour, and integration with enterprise environments.
- Working closely with technical leadership and customers to understand what the product needs to provide.
- Making decisions on technology, architecture, and implementation approach rather than simply carrying out someone elseâs design.
- Shipping production-quality software that customers rely on in live use.
Technology environment
- C# and modern .NET
- SQL Server and PostgreSQL
- Azure or AWS
- Microservices-based architecture
- Event-driven systems
What the employer is looking for
- Typically 4 to 8 years of experience building production systems using C# and .NET.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, not just hands-on coding ability.
- Experience building systems from the ground up and understanding the reasons behind technical decisions.
- Confidence working in uncertain situations and making sensible engineering choices when the full picture is not yet clear.
- Comfort working with enterprise customers and understanding the constraints they operate under.
- A genuine interest in building important software, shaping technical direction, and tackling problems that require thoughtful engineering judgement.
