This opportunity is with a well-funded and fast-growing semiconductor and AI computing business that is developing high-performance compute platforms. Their work sits at the intersection of advanced silicon, accelerator technology, and compiler engineering, and they are expanding the compiler team to support next-generation products.
The company is seeking Senior to Staff-level Compiler Engineers who can contribute to performance-sensitive, hardware-aware compiler systems. The work is focused on building and refining compiler technology that has a direct effect on real compute products.
What you will do
- Build, extend, and maintain LLVM-based compiler toolchains, along with any custom compiler components needed by the platform.
- Improve performance for AI and machine-learning workloads, particularly in environments that rely on accelerators.
- Handle low-level compiler engineering tasks such as code generation and backend development.
- Take part in systems-oriented compiler work where understanding of the underlying hardware is essential.
- Work closely with architecture, silicon, and hardware teams so that compiler decisions align with product goals and technical constraints.
What the employer is looking for
- Substantial experience in compiler development, with LLVM experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent C++ skills.
- A background in systems programming, performance tuning, or software development that is closely tied to hardware.
- Any exposure to AI accelerators, CPUs, GPUs, or DSPs would be a strong advantage.
- Experience at Senior or Staff level, or equivalent depth of expertise, is expected for this position.
