An opportunity is available for a senior embedded software engineer to join a global leader in safeguarding technology development in Malvern, Worcestershire. The position offers a salary of up to £50,000 along with additional benefits, and it is aimed at an experienced engineer who can contribute to the development of secure, connected embedded products.
What you will be doing
- Designing and developing embedded software for commercial products.
- Working on secure IoT solutions and devices that connect to cloud services.
- Building software for systems based on STM32 microcontrollers.
- Implementing and supporting hardware communication interfaces such as I2C, SPI, CAN bus, UART, and Ethernet.
- Developing within an Agile delivery environment and collaborating closely with other engineers and stakeholders.
- Using your technical judgement, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail to produce reliable embedded software.
What the employer is looking for
- A strong academic record.
- Approximately five years of relevant experience in embedded C and C++ development.
- Practical experience with the STM32 family of microcontrollers.
- A good working knowledge of communications protocols including I2C, SPI, CAN bus, UART, and Ethernet.
- Experience with real-time operating systems, such as FreeRTOS.
- Evidence of having developed commercial embedded products successfully.
- Background in secure IoT development and cloud-connected devices.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
- Strong teamwork skills, along with a careful and detail-oriented approach.
