This is a four-day in-person work experience programme that gives students an early look into accountancy and the way a major professional services firm operates. The experience is designed to help participants understand what a future career in the field could look like by combining practical exposure, development activities, and opportunities to meet people across the business.
What the programme involves
Participants spend time with the Audit teams and get involved in real work, helping them see what accounting work is like in practice rather than just hearing about it in theory. Alongside this, the programme includes structured development sessions intended to build confidence and strengthen professional skills. There are also interactive group activities that focus on teamwork and problem-solving, giving students a chance to learn in a hands-on environment.
The experience also helps students start building a professional network by connecting with people from different parts of the organisation. In addition, it offers a broader view of how businesses function and introduces the range of career opportunities available within the firm and the wider profession.
Who the programme is for
This opportunity is aimed at students who will be in Year 12 or Year 13 as of September 2026 and who want to learn more about accountancy and business. It is especially suited to young people who are seriously considering a school leaver programme after finishing their studies and who want to begin their professional journey straight from school.
No previous work experience is required. The firm is looking for applicants who are enthusiastic, curious, and eager to learn, with a clear interest in business. The programme is intended for people who want real responsibility, meaningful learning, and early development opportunities.
Dates and location
The programme runs from Monday 17 August to Thursday 20 August 2026. It takes place at the Gatwick office and is delivered entirely in person. Applicants should make sure that the office is within a reasonable commuting distance from where they live, since attendance in full is required and participants must be available for the entire duration of the programme.
Culture and values
The organisation describes its culture as inclusive and supportive, with an emphasis on helping people flourish and perform at their best. It values individuality and looks for people whose approach reflects the firmâs principles: being purpose-driven, actively curious, and candid while remaining kind. The company presents itself as a place that does things differently, with a focus on future growth, positive change, and giving people genuine opportunity alongside work-life balance.
How to apply
The application process is straightforward. Candidates begin by completing a short application form. This is followed by an online assessment that usually takes less than five minutes. Applicants then complete a written case study, which is used to help them understand more about the kind of work carried out at the firm.
Those who want to improve their chances can also use the firmâs Employability Hub, which provides guidance on what the company looks for and how to prepare for each stage of the process. The page encourages interested candidates to apply and take the first step toward a future career with the firm. It also invites people to join the talent community to receive updates when future applications open and to get advice and guidance by email.
