Capgemini Invent is looking for an experienced finance transformation leader to join its Finance & Enterprise Value practice as a managing consultant. The role sits within the Enterprise Model & Strategy area and focuses on helping clients solve complex finance and enterprise challenges through a blend of strategic thinking, practical delivery, creativity, and technology-enabled transformation.
In this position, you will work across finance transformation and the wider enterprise model and strategy portfolio, supporting clients as they reshape finance functions, improve performance, and create lasting value. The work combines advisory, delivery, team leadership, and commercial growth responsibilities, so the role suits someone who can operate confidently with senior stakeholders while also helping to build the practice internally.
What you will do
- Take responsibility for delivering strategic transformation programmes within the Finance & Enterprise Value practice and the broader Enterprise Model & Strategy team, while helping to deepen and extend client relationships.
- Lead large, complex engagements, working side by side with clients and internal teams to understand the business issue, define the challenge clearly, and identify realistic solution paths.
- Develop clear, practical recommendations and insights based on strong evidence and analysis, with the ability to defend those recommendations in front of demanding clients.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients and build durable relationships with stakeholders at different levels, including senior leadership.
- Support the development of practice offerings by improving playbooks, toolkits, and other assets that strengthen innovation, market position, and thought leadership.
- Coach, develop, and manage team members during project delivery, helping to build capability and support consultant progression.
- Contribute to the growth of the practice through recruitment support, leadership activity, and broader people development.
- Help drive business development for the practice and the wider team by supporting leadership activity and recruitment across levels.
- Develop, commercialise, and scale assigned solutions and offerings so they contribute to business objectives.
- Work toward a sales target of £0.5m and help shape opportunities that support account growth.
- Contribute to internal initiatives such as campaigns, internal think tanks, white papers, practice operations, recruitment activity, team events, and offering development.
- Take part in learning and development opportunities, including training and certifications, to support your own career growth and the capability needs of the business.
What you need to bring
- Strong consulting and leadership experience, including a proven record of building teams, mobilising work, and delivering projects successfully.
- Previous experience using performance improvement methods and working across the finance value chain.
- Project leadership experience in at least two core finance processes, such as order to cash, procure to pay, record to report, planning and analysis, tax to finance, or treasury, or experience leading cost performance programmes.
- Experience across more than one of the following sectors: public sector, energy transition and utilities, financial services, manufacturing, automotive and life sciences, or technology, media, telecoms and services.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues to define problems quickly and shape solutions using a fact-based approach.
- Experience leading and planning the workstreams needed to deliver programmes in line with the relevant methodology.
- Confidence in building and maintaining relationships with senior executives, plus substantial experience delivering complex improvement or transformation projects in a hybrid delivery model.
- Experience working with finance teams in large, complex, or international organisations, along with familiarity with modern finance operating principles.
- Business development capability, including selling additional resources, shaping winning proposals, and contributing to strategic account development within an industry sector.
- Experience commercialising and growing solutions or offerings, together with a history of working to a formal sales target.
- Experience building and managing teams across multiple projects and workstreams.
- A strong record of supporting high-performing teams, coaching talent, and creating an inclusive culture that encourages growth.
- Because the role involves working with senior finance leaders, you must be a fully qualified UK Chartered Accountant, such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong technical finance knowledge and the ability to translate strategy into practical, actionable solutions.
- It would be an advantage to have experience delivering solutions that successfully use artificial intelligence.
