About the team and the role

Google Play provides music, movies, books, apps, and games across devices and on the web. The platform is powered by the cloud and is part of the broader Android and Mobile organization. Teams working on Google Play contribute in many ways, including backend engineering, product strategy, and content partnerships. Their work helps users do things such as purchase digital content on an Android phone and access it later on another device.

In EMEA, the Google Play ecosystem is described as complex and constantly changing. This role is responsible for leading the regional partnerships organization and helping accelerate partner success on Play, while also supporting the growth and adoption of Android platforms and products across the region. The work is intended to strengthen the ecosystem, improve partner reach and revenue, and keep the platform safe and trusted.

The role also involves close coordination with internal teams and external-facing functions to ensure Google Play can respond to local market, policy, and regulatory developments. A major part of the job is creating long-term value for partners while aligning regional execution with Google’s broader goals.

What we are looking for

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 15 years of people management experience, including leading distributed teams across regions or globally.
  • Experience in mobile app ecosystems, digital platforms, or another relevant area.
  • Experience working across product, sales, and engineering functions in a global environment.
  • An MBA is preferred.
  • Experience handling policy, regulatory, or legislative matters is preferred.
  • Additional background in mobile app ecosystems, digital platforms, cross-functional roles, or consulting is preferred.
  • Strong relationship-building ability, including a well-developed network of senior industry contacts and experience negotiating and closing strategic partnerships and renewals.
  • Sound business judgment and the ability to communicate clearly with senior business partners, along with confidence in advocating for partners, clients, and the business.
  • A track record of taking initiative, taking on increasing responsibility, and successfully leading and developing a partnerships team.
  • English fluency is required for all roles unless the posting says otherwise.
