| Category | IT Jobs |
| Job Type | Full Time |
| Location | London |
This is a senior, customer-facing security architecture role focused on helping Anthropicâs largest and most regulated enterprise customers deploy Claude safely and in line with demanding security and compliance expectations. The position sits at the intersection of AI adoption, enterprise security, and European regulation, and it is aimed at someone who can confidently lead high-stakes technical conversations with senior security leaders across EMEA.
In this role, you would be the trusted security authority for Anthropicâs most complex enterprise engagements. You would work directly with CISOs, security architects, compliance officers, and other technical decision-makers at major financial institutions, insurers, and similarly regulated organizations. The work is pre-sales and highly technical, with a strong emphasis on security architecture, compliance, networking, and data architecture. Success in the role depends on being able to explain how Claude can be deployed securely, how Anthropic handles data and access controls, and how the companyâs capabilities align with the expectations of European enterprises and regulators.
The role is designed for someone who has already operated in senior security, solutions, or pre-sales positions and understands how large European organizations evaluate and adopt new technology. Anthropic is looking for a person who can speak credibly about enterprise security and regulatory concerns, own the most difficult escalations in the region, and serve as the decisive technical voice in front of senior customer stakeholders. The company is especially interested in candidates who are energized by the challenge of defining how regulated enterprises should think about security and compliance in the era of AI.
What you would do
- Act as the lead security and compliance specialist in customer meetings, answering detailed questions about Claudeâs architecture, data handling, encryption, access controls, and deployment choices.
- Work with CISOs, security architects, compliance teams, and data protection officers to understand their requirements and design approaches that satisfy European regulatory standards.
- Lead deep technical discussions on topics such as network design, European data residency, retention controls, zero data retention policies, cross-border transfers, API security, authentication and authorization, logging, and integration patterns for regulated environments.
- Help enterprise customers through security reviews, vendor assessments, and due diligence by supplying technical documentation and expert advice.
- Advise customers on readiness for the EU AI Act, DORA, and NIS2, and help position Anthropic in the European market against competitors.
- Partner with Sales and Applied AI teams from the first conversation through deployment and implementation.
- Work with product and engineering teams to deepen internal understanding of Claudeâs security features, bring back customer feedback, and influence future product direction.
- Create collateral, reference architectures, and best-practice guidance tailored to regulated industries.
- Travel regularly across EMEA for workshops, architecture reviews, and strategic account discussions.
What Anthropic is looking for
- Seven or more years of experience in enterprise security, cloud architecture, or technical pre-sales, ideally with significant exposure to regulated industries in EMEA such as financial services, insurance, or healthcare.
- Strong technical knowledge of enterprise security fundamentals, including network security, identity and access management, encryption both at rest and in transit, API security, and audit and logging requirements.
- Practical understanding of GDPR, including data residency, retention and zero data retention, international data transfers, and DPIAs, along with familiarity with how the EU AI Act applies to foundation models.
- Experience with compliance frameworks relevant to European financial services and insurance, including DORA, NIS2, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, and guidance from national regulators such as FCA/PRA, BaFin, ACPR, and FINMA on AI and machine learning.
- A history of leading complex, high-stakes engagements with CISOs, security teams, and compliance officers at large European enterprises.
- Solid understanding of cloud architecture and deployment models across AWS, Azure, and GCP, including VPCs, private endpoints, hybrid connectivity, and the European sovereign cloud landscape.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain sophisticated security topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Fluency in English, with additional European languages viewed as a strong advantage.
- Awareness of the EMEA enterprise AI market and the competitive environment.
- Comfort working through ambiguity and moving quickly in a fast-changing market.
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to treat sales as a team effort.
- Genuine enthusiasm for AIâs potential to improve highly regulated industries, paired with a commitment to helping customers adopt it safely and responsibly.
- A bachelorâs degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- A relevant field of study, or equivalent knowledge gained through coursework, training, or professional experience.
- The expected experience level will align with the internal job level for the position, in addition to the seniority implied by the 7+ years of experience noted above.
Compensation and working setup
The posted annual compensation range is £190,000 to £230,000 GBP. Because this is a sales-oriented role, the range is presented as on-target earnings, meaning it includes both base pay and the target sales commission or bonus component.
The role is based in London, UK, and follows a hybrid working model. Anthropic expects staff to spend at least 25% of their time in one of its offices, and some positions may require more office time depending on the needs of the role. The posting also notes that the job involves regular travel across EMEA.
Benefits and culture
- Competitive pay and benefits.
- Optional equity donation matching.
- Generous vacation time.
- Parental leave.
- Flexible working hours.
- A collaborative office environment designed to support teamwork.
