In this role, you would be responsible for making sure your site operates smoothly and meets customer demand. What you will do
- Set the tone for a strong safety and wellbeing culture and make sure it is embedded in day-to-day operations.
- Review performance and introduce improvements that keep quality and productivity at a consistently strong level.
- Lead projects that simplify workflows, increase output, and improve the service customers receive in your area.
- Measure shift results against business goals and take action to improve operational performance.
- Partner with other managers and leadership colleagues to bring shift practices into line across the operation.
- Handle a mix of routine team leadership, daily operational work, process improvement activity, and broader contingency planning.
- Serve as a mentor and role model for newer managers joining the business.
- Work on a shift basis at one of Amazonâs sites, helping ensure the operation remains as productive as possible.
What the role looks like day to day
The work is varied and hands-on. You will spend time managing people, overseeing daily site activity, and making sure operational standards are met. You will also be expected to identify opportunities to improve processes and then drive those changes through implementation. In addition, you may be involved in wider operational contingency tasks when needed.
What you need
- A bachelorâs degree, or an equivalent background, in business, operations, logistics, supply chain, or engineering.
- Experience collaborating effectively across functions and building strong working relationships with people at all levels of an organization.
- Experience managing teams, motivating people, and influencing behavior.
- Experience using problem-solving methods and root-cause analysis to address issues.
- The ability to work through complex tasks quickly with little guidance and to respond with urgency when situations require fast action.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends, nights, and holidays.
Preferred background
- Experience gained in a distribution center, logistics setting, or manufacturing environment is preferred.
