The team works with customers and prospects to understand business challenges, design technical solutions, and act as subject matter experts on Algoliaâs products and services. In this role, you will report into the Senior Director of Global Solutions Engineering and work closely with EMEA SE leadership. You will be the most customer-close technical leader in the region, both internally and externally, and will play a major part in driving technical wins and improving the performance of the broader revenue organization.
Algolia describes itself as a leader in AI search, supporting more than 17,000 businesses and processing over 30 billion search requests each week. The company serves well-known customers across retail, commerce, and technology and continues to invest in its platform following significant funding and valuation growth. The position is intended for someone who enjoys developing people, influencing strategy, and helping customers solve real-world problems through code, advice, and practical technical guidance.
What you will do
- Lead a team of roughly six Solutions Engineers across the UK, Ireland, the Nordics, and Benelux, covering commercial, enterprise, and strategic accounts.
- Coach the team to build strong technical narratives and shape the story during the pre-sales process.
- Take ownership of the technical evaluation process for regional opportunities, from early discovery through evaluation and final commercial close.
- Work in close partnership with the regional sales leader and account executives to align coverage, prioritize opportunities, and create joint pipeline and account strategies.
- Develop team members in consultative selling so they can uncover customer business outcomes and connect Algoliaâs capabilities to measurable return on investment.
- Drive adoption of AI across the Solutions Engineering team to improve productivity, including AI-assisted coding, automated demo and proof-of-concept creation, and AI-supported discovery and solution design.
- Use the Value Engineering process to support business objectives with quantitative customer data and stronger value-based selling.
- Collaborate with Demo Engineering to create compelling demonstrations that clearly show product capabilities and help validate ROI.
- Help the region achieve quarterly quota goals by securing technical wins on new business.
- Introduce best practices and data-led programs that improve win rates, shorten sales cycles, increase product adoption, and make revenue-support work more efficient.
- Maintain strong operating discipline on the team, including regular customer communication and accurate forecasting of technical wins with account teams.
- Hire, onboard, and ramp new Solutions Engineers as the team grows and coverage gaps are addressed.
- Partner with Customer Success and Professional Services to ensure a smooth technical transition after the sale and to support adoption, expansion, and renewal.
- Work with Product and R&D to feed regional customer and market insights into the product roadmap.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to both technical and executive stakeholders inside and outside the company.

- Strong technical grounding, including prior development experience in a high-level language such as JavaScript, Java, Python, or a similar language.
