It is a hands-on, highly collaborative position that involves working with internal partners, external providers, and colleagues across multiple regions.
The environment is fast-paced and highly collaborative, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, responsiveness, and thoughtful decision-making. The team supports a large employee population across the EMEA region and also works with global colleagues in the Americas and APAC on initiatives that may affect employees around the world. What you will do
- Help drive the benefits strategy for the EMEA region from London, supporting retirement, health and welfare, and wellness-related programs and projects.
- Manage day-to-day relationships with benefits vendors, including dealing with escalated employee cases, coordinating internal plan communications, and partnering with Procurement on contract reviews, renewals, and invoice reconciliation.
- Use analysis to support reviews of benefit plan design and work closely with HR stakeholders, Benefits Operations, and Payroll on policy questions and related issues.
- Look for ways to improve benefit programs by reviewing financial data, comparing market practices, studying utilization and claims patterns, and considering employee feedback and experience.
- Ensure that all benefit programs remain compliant with the relevant local laws and statutory obligations in the countries covered.
- Identify and lead process improvement opportunities across benefits, building agreement among stakeholders and helping implement enhancements.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex employee benefits matters, supporting HR teams and using sound judgement to resolve sensitive issues and reduce risk.
- Take ownership of the end-to-end rollout of new plans, policies, programs, and plan design changes.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors and advisors, and ensure providers meet agreed service and performance standards.
- Keep up to date with benefits legislation, industry standards, and common methodologies, and incorporate that knowledge into internal processes and procedures.
- Work with the Internal Communications team to prepare messaging for existing and new benefit programs so employees understand and engage with what is available to them.
- Maintain accurate and current benefits information across internal HR systems and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Americas and APAC on global benefits projects and initiatives that may affect a very large international workforce.
What Bloomberg is looking for
- At least 7 years of experience in benefits management and advisory work, including experience in a corporate benefits environment, with around 2 years or more ideally in that setting.
- Knowledge of benefits programs and local regulations in the UK and other EMEA locations, including France, South Africa, Israel, the Netherlands, and the UAE.
- Experience creating and implementing benefits programs, supported by strong project management skills and the ability to design practical solutions that fit existing policies and processes.
- Ability to respond effectively to changing statutory rules and requirements and adjust plans when needed.
- Experience developing recommendations based on data to support informed decisions and balanced risk assessment.
- Advanced Excel capability and strong analytical skills, with a careful eye for detail and the ability to review data, identify errors, correct issues, and take responsibility for data quality.
- Strong judgement, including knowing when to escalate an issue, along with flexibility in how work is approached.
- A bachelorâs degree or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to follow through carefully and communicate difficult decisions clearly and professionally.
- The ability to work independently, set priorities, manage multiple tasks, and operate with minimal supervision.
- A customer-focused mindset with a responsive, practical, and open-minded attitude.
- Bloomberg also notes that the years of experience listed are a guide only, and applications will be considered from candidates who can demonstrate the required skills.
