Business Development Representative Overview

Company Name Airtable
Job Role Business Development Representative
Qualifications Not Specified
Category Sales Jobs
Job Type Full Time
Location London

This role sits within Airtable’s EMEA growth effort and is focused on helping the company expand its presence across the region from its London base. Airtable describes itself as a no-code application platform used by more than 500,000 organisations, including a large share of the Fortune 100, and says its EMEA operation has been growing since launch in 2022. The Business Development Representative will be part of that expansion, helping create new opportunities, deepen customer engagement, and support the company’s broader commercial goals.

This is not a standard outbound sales position. The person in this role will work alongside Strategic Account Executives in the UK and collaborate with cross-functional colleagues at the London EMEA headquarters. The job is designed for someone who wants to help prospects rethink how their work is organised, contribute ideas to sales and marketing efforts, and build the skills needed for a long-term career in AI-enabled software selling.

What you will be doing

  • Building and qualifying sales pipeline through a mix of inbound follow-up, outbound prospecting, and targeted outreach across Northern Europe.
  • Working with Account Executives on territory strategy, account ranking, and personalised outreach plans.
  • Investigating target accounts and decision-maker profiles to find the best opportunities and create messaging that is relevant and specific.
  • Connecting with prospects through calls, email, events, webinars, and coordinated multi-channel campaigns.
  • Presenting Airtable’s value clearly and showing how the platform helps organisations solve difficult operational problems.
  • Running discovery and qualification discussions to understand customer challenges and judge whether there is a good fit.
  • Sharing feedback with Marketing on campaign effectiveness, messaging, and lead quality.
  • Trying new outbound approaches, reviewing results, and improving tactics to increase pipeline generation.
  • Continuously strengthening product knowledge and sales capability in a high-growth, fast-moving environment.

What Airtable is looking for

  • Fluent English communication skills.
  • At least one year of experience in sales or a similar commercial role.
  • Comfort using AI in day-to-day work and personal life, along with a strong desire to grow into an AI-fluent seller.
  • Experience thriving in a performance-driven environment where results are measured closely.
  • Strong organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • A proactive, inquisitive approach and a willingness to keep learning and improving.
  • Excellent communication and narrative skills, with the ability to engage a broad range of audiences.
  • A habit of seeking feedback and using it to develop professionally.
  • Hands-on experience writing outbound messages, tracking how they perform, and making changes based on the data.
  • Enthusiasm for helping scale a category-leading company in EMEA.
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid pattern from London, including three days per week in the office.
  • The application form also asks whether the candidate has the right to work in the UK.

Rewards and support

  • An annual travel allowance of £7,500 to help with commuting.
  • Private medical, dental, and vision coverage through AXA, with subsidised dependent options available.
  • Family-planning support of up to £7,200 per year through Carrot, plus at least 16 weeks of fully paid maternity or paternity leave.
  • Access to the Workplace Nursery salary sacrifice scheme, which can save up to 42% per child each year.
  • A 9% company pension contribution.
  • £150 each month to spend on wellbeing, whether that means fitness, mindfulness, hobbies, or self-care.
  • Free catered lunch on office days.
  • A one-off £750 allowance to set up a home workspace.
  • 25 days of annual leave, four company-wide Recharge Days, and additional time off between Christmas and New Year as part of the Winter Break.
  • Five paid Volunteer Days each year.
  • A commitment to an inclusive, respectful workplace where people from different backgrounds and perspectives are welcomed and supported.
  • Reasonable accommodation for applicants with disabilities during the hiring process.
  • London on-target earnings in the range of £70,000 to £78,000 GBP.

The role is based in London and follows a hybrid schedule with three office days each week. Airtable’s application process is handled through Greenhouse, and applicants are asked to submit a CV, cover letter, LinkedIn profile, and responses to screening questions, including whether they can work in the UK, whether they are comfortable with the office attendance requirement, an example of how they have used AI, and a brief explanation of what they want from their next role.

Airtable also includes a safety notice warning applicants to watch out for scams. The company says official communication will come from an @airtable.com email address and that it will not ask candidates to buy equipment or share sensitive information during hiring. If needed, candidates can contact [email protected] for verification.
