This is a Data Analyst position for someone who wants to do more than produce routine reports. The employer is a scaling technology company that is in the middle of a significant data transformation, and the business is looking for someone who can help turn a newly centralised data environment into something trusted, structured, and genuinely useful for reporting and decision-making.

The company has recently brought its data together in a new ERP system, but the information is not yet fully organised or optimised for reporting. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving that situation by strengthening reporting, helping to resolve data issues, and contributing to the wider transformation of the data landscape. This is a role for someone who enjoys the technical side of data work but also wants to remain close to the business and its stakeholders.

What the role involves

You will work across three main areas. First, you will take ownership of reporting and help move the organisation away from older SSRS-based tools toward modern Power BI reporting. There is a strong opportunity to influence how Power BI is adopted across the business and to build reporting that is more scalable, interactive, and useful for end users.

Second, you will work closely with senior stakeholders. That means understanding what they need, translating those needs into practical reporting solutions, and challenging thinking where appropriate so that the business can make better data-led decisions.

Third, you will be involved in more technical data transformation work. This includes investigating data problems, checking outputs, working with changing schemas, and helping to establish a solid reporting framework on top of an evolving data warehouse layer.

You will also collaborate with developers, helping to shape how data is structured and making sure the reporting outputs are accurate, scalable, and ready for future growth.

Main responsibilities

  • Own and improve the reporting environment, with a focus on moving from legacy SSRS reporting into Power BI.
  • Build modern, scalable, and interactive reporting solutions that better support the business.
  • Work directly with senior stakeholders to gather requirements, interpret business needs, and support stronger decision-making.
  • Investigate data issues, identify the source of problems, and help resolve them.
  • Validate data outputs and reconcile differences between sources to ensure reporting is reliable.
  • Work with evolving data structures and adapt reporting logic as schemas change.
  • Contribute to the development of a proper reporting framework and support work around the data warehouse layer.
  • Partner with developers to improve data quality and strengthen reporting outputs.
  • Help ensure the organisation’s reporting is accurate, scalable, and fit for future use.

What the employer is looking for

  • Strong SQL capability and good overall analytical skills.
  • A curious, investigative mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and solve data problems.
  • Experience working with data integrity checks, validation, and reconciliation across multiple data sources.
  • Comfort working with changing data schemas and updating reporting logic accordingly.
  • Experience working alongside developers to improve data quality and reporting outcomes.
  • Some understanding of, or exposure to, building a reporting framework or contributing to a data warehouse layer.
  • Confidence working with stakeholders in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
  • A background or interest that bridges Data Analyst and Data Engineer work, especially for someone who wants to stay close to the business while handling more technical data tasks.

Package and working arrangement

The salary is £65,000, with benefits included, and the employer has said the figure is negotiable for the right candidate. This is a permanent position.

The role is based in North London. The working pattern starts with full-time office attendance for the first few months, after which the arrangement changes to three days in the office and two days working from home.

The hiring process is moving quickly, and the employer is looking to interview promptly for immediate consideration.

How to apply

Applicants are encouraged to apply now for immediate consideration. The employer has indicated that interviews will move quickly, so candidates who are interested should not delay.
