Bloombergâs Electronic Trading Solutions team brings together the companyâs cross-asset electronic trading platforms into a single group focused on delivering trading tools and analytics to both buy-side and sell-side clients. The platform supports the full trading workflow, including staging, monitoring, trading, clearing, allocation, and transaction cost analysis, all within one environment. The team also works on solutions that help capture workflow, secure terminal usage, and expand market share, while offering revenue-generating products that connect with both Bloomberg and non-Bloomberg order management systems across the market.
Role overview
This position sits within the EMEA region and is centered on Bloombergâs growth strategy in the UK real money market. The successful candidate will work with some of the most influential asset managers and institutional investors in the industry, helping to expand the use of Bloombergâs electronic trading solutions and shaping how leading buy-side firms access liquidity and execute trades across markets. Fixed income electronic trading is a major strategic focus for Bloomberg, so this role is important to the continued momentum and investment behind that area.
The role also involves working closely with colleagues in Bloomberg Enterprise Sales to identify opportunities to introduce broader Enterprise Solutions and Electronic Trading Services capabilities to strategic clients. It is designed for someone who can become a trusted advisor to major buy-side accounts, develop specialist knowledge in fixed income electronic trading, and maintain a broad understanding of the wider ETS product set in order to deliver a joined-up and effective client strategy.
What you will do
- Develop a strong working knowledge of Bloombergâs products and understand how they fit into financial markets so you can position them effectively with clients.
- Partner with clients to identify workflow gaps and help increase their use of the terminal and flagship Bloomberg products.
- Take ownership of the coverage area and proactively monitor users who may be at risk so you can help defend Bloombergâs business.
- Plan and execute usage campaigns, including self-started initiatives aimed at meeting business targets as well as campaigns driven by management priorities.
- Build a deep understanding of different customer types, including how they operate, generate revenue, carry out their work, and use technology.
- Show clients how relevant Bloomberg solutions work in practice and explain the workflows that address the needs of a particular customer type.
- Contribute original ideas that anticipate client requirements and respond to changing needs.
- Take part in new projects that support both team-level goals and broader firm-wide initiatives.
- Use your understanding of the market environment to support commercial conversations both inside Bloomberg and with external clients.
- Work with Enterprise Sales colleagues to uncover opportunities for introducing additional Bloomberg solutions to strategic accounts.
- Act as a knowledgeable advisor to important buy-side clients while helping grow Bloombergâs fixed income electronic trading franchise.
What Bloomberg is looking for
- Substantial experience serving this client segment, with Tier 1 asset manager experience preferred.
- Practical experience using Bloombergâs electronic trading platform and terminal, or a similar product set, along with relevant asset-class functionality.
- A commercial mindset and the ability to contribute effectively in a non-hierarchical environment where formal titles are not the focus.
- A strong collaborative attitude and a willingness to support colleagues.
- Excellent presentation, training, and communication skills.
- The ability to understand how Bloombergâs products integrate with financial markets and to explain that clearly to clients.
- Comfort working on both departmental initiatives and company-wide programs.
- The page also says that years of experience are only a guide and that applicants who can demonstrate the necessary skills will still be considered.
