The position sits within a highly capable multidisciplinary engineering team, and the work spans the full product journey from early concept and design through testing, manufacture, and delivery to customers.

What you will do

  • Support the design, development, and validation of electronic hardware as part of a collaborative product development team.
  • Work across the full lifecycle of the product, contributing from initial ideas and design work through to testing, manufacturing, and customer deployment.
  • Create analogue and digital circuit designs for innovative electronic solutions.
  • Carry out schematic capture and PCB layout tasks using Altium Designer.
  • Use simulation and verification methods to check and refine circuit designs.
  • Bring up new hardware, diagnose faults, and validate that designs operate as intended.
  • Build prototypes, complete soldering work, and make hardware changes or modifications when required.
  • Work with common communication standards and interfaces including CAN, I2C, SPI, UART, and Ethernet.
  • Assist with products during development, manufacturing, and ongoing improvement activities.
  • Investigate failures, identify root causes, and help resolve technical issues.
  • Provide support to manufacturing teams and contribute ideas for continuous product improvement.
  • Write and maintain clear technical documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with software, mechanical, and systems engineers to deliver products for customers in global markets.

What the employer is looking for

  • A degree in Electronics Engineering or a similar discipline.
  • Roughly two years of commercial experience in electronics engineering.
  • Hands-on experience designing analogue electronic circuits.
  • PCB design and layout experience using Altium Designer.
  • Strong practical ability in hardware debugging and testing.
  • Experience using laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analysers.
  • Experience bringing up new hardware and troubleshooting design issues.
  • A solid understanding of product development processes.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a structured approach to investigation and fault finding.
  • Desirable experience with STM32 microcontrollers.
  • Desirable exposure to embedded software development.
  • Desirable knowledge of EMC design and compliance requirements.
  • Desirable experience in safety-critical or regulated product environments.

Package and working arrangement

  • Permanent employment.
  • Salary in the range of £37,000 to £40,000.
  • Based in Malvern.
