The work spans clients in energy networks, energy retail, energy central markets, water, and nuclear, with this position specifically helping to strengthen the firmâs presence in civil nuclear.
The organisation combines strategic thinking, creative problem-solving, scientific insight, and technology-enabled delivery to help clients address current and future challenges. The aim is to support transformation that is informed by evidence, strengthened by data, and delivered with purpose. What you would do
- Take a leading role in high-profile nuclear energy engagements that help clients and the UK move toward a cleaner and more secure energy system.
- Work across the full civil nuclear lifecycle, supporting clients from strategy and planning through delivery, operations, and end-of-life activities.
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and act as a dependable advisor to clients at all levels of their organisations.
- Lead experienced delivery teams to improve project execution and strengthen operational performance.
- Collaborate with specialists from civil engineering, digital and data, business operations, nuclear industry backgrounds, and emerging technology areas such as AI.
- Help shape the direction of the nuclear offering and contribute to the wider growth strategy for the business.
- Coach and develop junior colleagues while setting an example through your own behaviour and leadership style.
- Support business development and thought leadership activity, including identifying, pursuing, and converting new opportunities.
- Use a mix of existing client relationships, broader company connections, and your own network to help generate revenue.
- Contribute to internal initiatives such as campaign creation, internal discussion groups, white papers, practice development, recruitment, team activities, and service offering development.
- Continue building your own expertise through ongoing learning and training.
What the team is looking for
- Hands-on experience in the civil nuclear sector, potentially including engineering, construction, operations, commissioning, or decommissioning work related to nuclear projects, facilities, or assets.
- Strong consulting experience, either from a major consulting firm or from an industry role that has a consulting-style background.
- Commercial judgement and a solid understanding of how to grow business, including the ability to use your own network and the organisationâs existing relationships to create revenue.
- The ability to improve client outcomes by applying lessons and insight from the full civil nuclear lifecycle and other relevant sectors.
- A track record of succeeding in matrixed organisations and gaining the support of peers when selling and delivering consulting solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective professional networks.
- Confidence working in fast-paced, high-performing environments while consistently delivering to a very high standard.
- A proactive mindset focused on growth, opportunity creation, and working with leadership to pursue both new and existing business.
- Experience as both a business leader and a people leader.
