Managing Consultant / Senior Manager – Cloud Programme Manager Overview

Company Name Capgemini
Job Role Managing Consultant / Senior Manager – Cloud Programme Manager
Qualifications Not Specified
Category IT Jobs
Job Type Full Time
Location London

This role sits within Capgemini Invent, where the focus is on helping clients drive change through a combination of strategic thinking, creativity, scientific insight, and technology. The position is for an experienced cloud programme leader who can guide complex transformation work for enterprise organisations, taking programmes from early shaping and business case development through to delivery and the realisation of measurable benefits.

What the role involves

  • Leading major cloud and infrastructure transformation initiatives for enterprise clients, with responsibility spanning the full lifecycle from strategy and business case through implementation and benefits tracking.
  • Managing programmes with multiple workstreams, including cloud migration, data centre exit, infrastructure transformation, landing zone creation, and platform modernisation.
  • Working across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments, with the ability to operate in technically complex and multi-vendor settings.
  • Owning the programme governance structure, including the business case, delivery roadmap, RAID management, dependency management, scope control, statement of work oversight, and executive reporting.
  • Keeping delivery aligned to the outcomes the business is trying to achieve, rather than focusing only on technical outputs.
  • Defining programme benefits, tracking them over time, and demonstrating value in partnership with client finance and business stakeholders.
  • Leading and supporting cross-functional teams made up of client personnel, Capgemini colleagues, hyperscaler partners, and third-party suppliers.
  • Managing supplier relationships and helping coordinate delivery across the wider ecosystem.
  • Using AI and generative AI tools where appropriate to improve delivery speed and effectiveness.
  • Contributing to programmes that increasingly include AI and data workload migration and modernisation.

What is expected at each level

  • At Managing Consultant level, you would be expected to lead a substantial workstream or a medium-sized programme end to end, own day-to-day client relationships, and deliver high-quality outputs.
  • At Senior Manager level, you would be expected to lead larger and more complex programmes, manage senior client relationships, and help shape and win additional work.

Broader contribution to the business

  • Support business development by contributing to proposals, RFP responses, bids, proposition development, client pitch activity, and hosting clients at events.
  • Take part in internal contribution activities such as campaign development, internal think-tanks, white papers, practice operations, recruitment, team events, and development of the firm’s offerings.
  • Engage in learning and development opportunities, including training and certifications that support both your own growth and the organisation’s capability needs.

What the company is looking for

  • Experience leading or managing medium-to-large cloud and infrastructure programmes, such as cloud transformation, data centre exit, or infrastructure modernisation, ideally in a consulting or client-facing environment.
  • Practical delivery experience with cloud migration and modernisation on at least one of the major hyperscaler platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Working knowledge of related disciplines such as DevOps, FinOps, platform engineering, and site reliability engineering would be an advantage.
  • Strong programme governance capability, including business case development, roadmap planning, RAID management, dependency tracking, executive reporting, and scope/commercial management.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills across senior executives and functions such as finance, procurement, engineering, security, and operations.
  • Ability to build support and commitment across a matrixed organisation.
  • Experience with AI or data workload programmes, or with using AI tools to accelerate delivery, is highly desirable.
  • Professional certifications such as MSP, PMP, SAFe, PRINCE2, or Scrum are considered beneficial.
  • Hyperscaler certifications are also viewed positively.
  • A collaborative, adaptable approach and enthusiasm for helping organisations transform through technology.

Social and team connection are also part of the experience, with monthly team drinks, leadership connect sessions, and team days designed to bring colleagues together in more informal settings.

Location, flexibility, and package

  • The office base can be London, Manchester, or Glasgow.
  • The role requires full flexibility on assignment location, as work may involve periods away from home at short notice.
  • The compensation package includes flexible benefits that can be tailored to individual circumstances.
  • There is also a variable pay component linked to grade, company performance, and personal performance.
