This is a senior systems engineering opportunity for an experienced C++ developer who wants to work on a performance-critical reasoning engine used on more than 60 million devices around the world. The role sits within a highly capable engineering group focused on core C++ development, where speed, correctness, and code quality are all treated as essential.

What you will be doing

• Building and improving a core C++ system that must perform reliably at very high scale.
• Working on complex data processing and reasoning functionality.
• Designing and refining concurrent and multithreaded components.
• Improving memory efficiency and carrying out low-level optimisation work.
• Ensuring the system behaves correctly across Linux, Windows, and macOS.
• Handling system-level interactions when the solution needs to work closely with the operating system or platform internals.
• Contributing directly as a hands-on engineer in a role that is deeply technical and systems-oriented.

Experience and skills needed

• Approximately 10 to 15 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong commercial background in modern C++, with C++17 or later specifically mentioned.
• Experience working on systems software or other performance-sensitive products.
• Solid practical knowledge of multithreading and concurrency.
• Comfort working close to the system, including memory management, operating system behaviour, and performance tuning.
• A strong habit of writing maintainable, high-quality code.
• Experience with low-level optimisation would strengthen an application.
• Exposure to high-performance backend systems would be useful.
• Experience from quant, trading, database, engine, gaming, or real-time systems would be relevant and welcomed.
• Cross-platform development experience would be an advantage.
