This is a practical embedded software engineering role focused on the full journey of a product, from early development through integration and deployment. What you will do

• Write embedded firmware in C for vehicle-related products and systems.
• Develop and support CAN bus communication functionality.
• Produce electronic schematics and contribute to PCB layout activities.
• Test and debug issues at both the hardware and software levels.
• Help deploy systems into live environments and assist with fault-finding when issues arise.
• Feed into new feature development and ongoing product improvements.
• Work across the full product lifecycle rather than focusing on only one stage of development.

What the role involves

The role is based in Stafford and is a permanent position with a salary of £40,000 to £55,000. It is described as a hands-on embedded engineering opportunity where you will be involved in firmware development, electronics design, and real-world integration work. The products you help build are deployed directly into vehicles, so the role includes both development and practical support once systems are in use.

• Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, including OBD-II and UDS.
• Use of Python for automation or engineering tooling.
• Experience with Git or another version control system.
