Company Name TPP
Job Role Senior Technical Engineer
Qualifications Bachelor’s
Category IT Jobs
Job Type Full Time
Location Leeds

This role is for a technically minded engineer who wants a broad, hands-on position within a small and collaborative team. The work is varied and demanding, with a strong focus on building, maintaining, and improving systems that are essential to the NHS and to healthcare organisations across the world. It is suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, working across different technical areas, and contributing to services that have a meaningful real-world impact.

The company says it is continuing to recruit actively and highlights that its staff are regarded as key workers. It also notes that the team is working hard to develop technology that supports the NHS during the COVID-19 pandemic.

What you will do

  • Play an active part in designing, supporting, and upgrading services that are critical to healthcare delivery.
  • Work closely with other technical team members to tackle current scaling issues as the business grows internationally.
  • Help address challenges linked to the rapid expansion of mobile applications and artificial intelligence products.
  • Contribute to technical work that supports both NHS services and healthcare organisations in other countries.
  • Travel internationally when required to assess data centre options, help define and size new projects, and take part in technical discussions at government level.

What the employer is looking for

  • Between one and three years of experience in a similar technical role.
  • A computer-related degree with a minimum 2:1 classification.
  • At least ABB/AAC at A-level, including Maths or IT.
  • Practical experience with relational databases, especially SQL Server.
  • Experience in Windows environments covering system administration, configuration, enhancements, system design, and build work.
  • Hands-on understanding of hardware, including server components and how to investigate and fix problems.
  • Networking knowledge, including managing enterprise firewalls, switches, and routers, along with familiarity with common network protocols.
  • Cyber security awareness, including penetration testing and monitoring for threats, vulnerabilities, and indicators of compromise.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • A mindset that favours automation over repetitive manual processes.

What is on offer

  • A starting salary of at least £60,000, with the final figure based on experience.
  • A chance to join a close-knit technical team.
  • Work that is varied and challenging, with opportunities to deepen technical expertise.
  • The chance to contribute to systems used by major healthcare organisations and the NHS.
  • International travel as part of the role.
  • Exposure to data centre planning, project scoping, and high-level technical discussions.
