Company Name Capgemini
Job Role Service Management – Senior Consultant
Qualifications Not Specified
Category Healthcare Jobs
Job Type Full Time
Location Manchester

This role sits within Capgemini Invent’s Cloud Advisory capability, which is part of the broader Business Technology organisation. The team helps clients use cloud to create new business models, speed up growth, meet regulatory obligations, and lower carbon impact. The work combines strategy, creativity, science, and technology to support transformation that is tailored to each client’s current and future challenges.

What the role involves

As a Senior Consultant focused on service management, you will help clients design and deliver improved service management capabilities, processes, and operating models. The work is grounded in ITIL v4, DevOps, and Agile practices, with an emphasis on innovation, agility, better service performance, and lower operating cost.

You will also support wider service management modernisation by helping organisations evolve across governance, skills, culture, tooling, and organisational structure. A key part of the role is applying SIAM and Lean thinking to improve complex environments with multiple vendors and to make better use of ITSM platforms, particularly where cloud integration is involved.

Another major aspect of the position is helping clients move from traditional on-premises setups to hybrid and multi-cloud environments. This includes defining realistic transition states and practical roadmaps that lead to service models that are scalable, resilient, and fit for future growth.

The role also expects you to bring an AI-first mindset to service management. That means identifying opportunities to embed automation into service designs, tools, and processes so that clients can achieve measurable business value and more efficient operations.

Beyond client delivery, you will contribute to the growth of the consulting practice. This includes helping with sustainable transformation work, supporting business development, and taking part in activities that strengthen the team and the wider offering.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and deliver improved service management capabilities and operating models aligned to ITIL v4, DevOps, and Agile.
  • Help clients modernise service management across governance, skills, culture, tooling, and organisational design.
  • Use SIAM and Lean methods to improve multi-vendor operating environments and increase the value of ITSM investments.
  • Create transition roadmaps and interim states for organisations moving into hybrid and multi-cloud operating models.
  • Embed automation and AI into service management approaches to improve outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Support practice development and contribute to sustainable transformation work.
  • Take part in proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, and client pitch preparation.
  • Support client hosting and external events as part of business development activity.
  • Contribute to internal initiatives such as campaigns, thought leadership, whitepapers, recruitment, operations, and team events.
  • Participate in learning and development activities, including training and certifications.
  • Build trusted client relationships and help move opportunities from idea through strategy to execution.

What you should bring

You should have practical experience designing and implementing service management frameworks based on ITIL v4, along with experience improving ITSM tooling, defining operating models, and introducing automation across IT and business processes.

The role requires confidence in client-facing consulting work, including the ability to develop business cases, work through commercial processes, and contribute to business development. You should also have a strong record of leading advisory engagements, managing teams, and building trusted relationships with both internal colleagues and external clients.

Experience with cloud centres of excellence, SIAM, operating models, AI optimisation, and hybrid or multi-cloud environments is important, as is familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, Lean, and Agile methods.

Experience currently in a consulting firm, or in industry with a service management background, would be beneficial. It is also helpful if you have worked successfully in a matrixed organisation, can gain support from peers when selling and delivering consulting solutions, and have experience building propositions and generating business through existing relationships and your own network.

What you can expect from the team and environment

Client engagements will give you the chance to work closely with senior consulting leaders, learn from them, challenge ideas, and accelerate your own delivery skills and industry understanding. You will gain exposure to how strong client propositions are built and how major transformation programmes are shaped and led.

The role offers hands-on experience with leading technologies and the opportunity to take an idea from early concept through to vision, strategy, and implementation. Consultants are formally trained by industry experts, and there are multiple learning and certification routes available through internal programmes and partner-led training with organisations such as AWS, Google, ServiceNow, and Microsoft.

Capgemini Invent also provides access to Les Fontaines, a dedicated training environment near Paris where teams can focus on thought leadership, knowledge sharing, and capability building. The company also runs monthly showcases of digital transformation work, giving teams a chance to share ideas and demonstrate the impact of technology on clients.

There are regular opportunities to connect with colleagues through monthly team drinks, leadership connect sessions, and team away days, all of which are intended to support collaboration, learning, and a stronger sense of community.

Working style, inclusion, and wellbeing

The organisation says it is committed to inclusion and to making flexible working a practical reality. Hybrid working is embedded into the way the business operates, and all UK employees can request flexible working arrangements.

Employee wellbeing is described as a priority. Support includes trained Mental Health Champions across the business and access to wellbeing apps such as Thrive and Peppy. The company also states that it aims to create an environment where people can bring their whole selves to work and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Capgemini is a Disability Confident Employer at Level 2 under the UK Government scheme. Candidates who declare a disability and meet the minimum essential criteria will be offered an interview, provided they opt in during the application process.
