| Category | IT Jobs |
| Job Type | Full Time |
| Location | Bristol |
Armâs Systems team develops advanced IP and subsystem solutions for a wide range of product areas, with a strong focus on AI-related use cases. The team brings together the latest IP from Arm and external vendors to build solutions used across mobile, server, IoT, automotive, and other markets. This opening is for an IP verification engineer who enjoys tackling complex technical problems and wants to help ensure that sophisticated hardware blocks work correctly together and with the software stack around them.
The role is centered on verifying and testing demanding IP such as crypto accelerators, hardware DVFS components, PCIe controllers, and interconnect fabrics. The aim is to make sure these blocks behave as intended individually and as part of larger systems, enabling Armâs partners to create robust, high-quality products.
What you will do
- Build verification plans for the assigned IP, including the test strategy and the specific checks needed to validate functionality.
- Define and document the methodology that will be used to verify the design effectively.
- Create C-based software tests as well as SystemVerilog and Verilog testbenches and test cases.
- Investigate failing tests, diagnose issues, and debug verification problems to identify the underlying cause.
- Work with project managers and technical leads to organize tasks, agree schedules, and provide progress updates.
- Collaborate with specialists across architecture, design, implementation, modelling, performance analysis, silicon validation, FPGA work, and board development.
- Contribute to the verification of complex IP blocks including security-related accelerators, power-management logic, PCIe, and interconnect components.
- Help ensure the IP integrates cleanly with software and with other hardware blocks so that partners can build dependable systems.
What we are looking for
- Solid experience using Verilog and SystemVerilog for digital hardware verification.
- Practical knowledge of at least one major verification approach, such as UVM, formal methods, or power-aware verification.
- Experience with SoC verification that includes low-level embedded programming, especially C/C++ tests and assembly language, ideally on ARM platforms.
- Exposure to the full verification process, from requirements gathering through planning, implementation, test creation, documentation, and support.
- Strong troubleshooting ability and a methodical approach to debugging.
- Understanding of IP and SoC verification flows and the broader verification strategy.
- Experience with ARM-based builds and/or ARM system architecture.
- Knowledge of clock-domain-crossing verification techniques.
- Experience with GLS and DFT/DFD.
- Experience with UPF and power-aware verification.
- Ability to automate tasks using shell scripting or scripting languages such as Tcl, Perl, or Python.
- Interest in exploring AI-based methods for digital verification.
- Preferred experience with formal verification tools such as JasperGold or VC Formal.
- Preferred background in hardware security and cryptographic algorithms.
- Preferred understanding of machine learning and how it may be used in verification workflows.
- Preferred familiarity with ARMâs proprietary tools and working environments.
