This role sits within Googleâs Global Submarine Networks organization, which is responsible for designing, building, operating, and maintaining the subsea backbone that supports Googleâs products and services. What you will do
- Convert large and complex datasets from submarine cable systems and landing stations into useful insights by creating advanced analytics solutions and interactive Looker dashboards that help teams make informed decisions.
- Oversee project build progress, with emphasis on identifying the critical path and monitoring subsea infrastructure milestones in real time so delivery stays on schedule.
- Use data to uncover possible delays or blockers, develop mitigation plans, and lead stakeholder discussions to align on and implement risk-reduction actions across the project portfolio.
- Partner with teams across multiple disciplines to gather business needs and turn technical information into clear visual reports and narratives for executive audiences.
- Define, communicate, and maintain program metrics and success measures so the team can align on where performance gaps exist and how progress should be measured.
- Review opportunities to standardize processes, materials, and tooling across global programs to improve consistency, simplify communication, and make execution more efficient.
What you need
- A bachelorâs degree in a technical subject, or equivalent practical experience gained through hands-on work.
- At least two years of experience in program management.
- Experience working with data visualization in Python, Vibe Coding, Tableau, or Power BI.
- At least two years of experience managing projects or initiatives that span multiple teams or functions.
- Preferred background in program management within networking, including delivery of infrastructure assets.
- Comfort operating in ambiguous environments and the ability to identify improvement opportunities while solving problems effectively.
- Understanding of fiber optic systems and submarine cable ecosystems, along with a working knowledge of EMEA and global carrier networks.
- Strong problem-solving and financial analysis skills, with a habit of approaching complex issues through data and investigation.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, including the ability to work well with a broad mix of people and job functions.
- Experience level aligned to a mid-level role, with the ability to drive work forward, address challenges, and mentor more junior team members.
