SAP ABAP S/4 Hana Architect – UK Overview

Infosys is looking for a senior SAP ABAP and S/4HANA architect to join its London team. This position sits within the technology architecture space and is aimed at someone who can contribute across the full delivery lifecycle, from early requirements work through to architecture definition, detailed design, and implementation support. The role is based in London, United Kingdom, and is part of Infosys’ delivery organisation.

What you will do

• Partner with important stakeholders and apply technical expertise across multiple stages of the software development lifecycle.
• Lead or contribute to requirements gathering, application architecture definition, and solution design.
• Produce strong, high-quality design artefacts that support delivery and implementation.
• Evaluate whether proposed solutions are technically feasible and identify efficient approaches to meeting client needs.
• Work as a collaborative team member alongside both offshore and onshore colleagues.
• Operate in an environment that encourages learning, teamwork, collaboration, high standards, and respect for diversity.

Technical background and experience needed

• Deep hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA ABAP, including familiarity with the latest releases.
• Practical experience using Eclipse and ADLC tools.
• Strong working knowledge of ABAP in S/4HANA, including workflows, AMDP, CDS, BRF+, and BOPF.
• Experience with integration and interface technologies such as REST APIs, SOAP APIs, OData, SAP AIF, in-app extensibility, and Adobe Forms.
• Extensive ABAP/4 development experience covering reporting solutions such as ALV, interactive and classical reports, as well as OSS note implementation, Smart Forms, Menu Painter, user exits, field exits, menu exits, function exits, screen exits, BAdIs, RFC, dialog programming, and the Data Dictionary.
• Proven ability to handle ABAP planning, design, development, implementation, and testing for scripts, custom reports, user enhancements, dialog programming, and custom objects such as Z tables and match codes.
• Ability to support the customisation of Fiori applications.
• Strong knowledge of performance analysis and troubleshooting tools, including SE30, ST05, and ST22, with experience in runtime analysis, tuning performance, resolving issues, and planning for capacity.
• Knowledge of MES interfaces, web services, SOA Manager, and DRF.
• Experience using AIF for interface monitoring.
• Knowledge of the PP module.

Preferred background

• Experience in the life sciences sector is preferred.
• Previous work in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
• Multilingual capability would be an advantage, although English is required.
