SAP ABAP EWM S/4 Hana Architect – UK Overview

This position is for a senior SAP technology architect based in London, supporting delivery work in SAP ABAP and EWM on S/4HANA. The role sits within a global consulting and digital services environment and is focused on architecture, design, technical feasibility, and hands-on solution support across the software development lifecycle.

What you will do

• Work directly with important stakeholders and contribute technical expertise throughout the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, architecture definition, and solution design.
• Create strong design outputs and other architecture deliverables that support high-quality implementation.
• Evaluate whether proposed solutions are technically workable and identify efficient approaches to meeting client needs.
• Operate as part of a wider delivery team, collaborating closely with both offshore and onshore colleagues.
• Contribute to a working environment that encourages learning, teamwork, collaboration, excellence, and respect for diversity.

Technical background and experience needed

• Deep practical experience with SAP S/4HANA EWM, including familiarity with the most recent releases.
• Good understanding of warehouse management processes.
• Hands-on experience with EWM RF configuration and development.
• Experience building, configuring, and supporting EWM interfaces, including AIF monitoring and error handling.
• Working knowledge of the EWM Monitor.
• Substantial experience with PPF development.
• Experience with label printing and EWM enhancement work.
• Experience using Eclipse and ADLC tools.
• Strong ABAP on S/4HANA capability, including workflows, AMDP, CDS, BOPF, and BRF+.
• Knowledge of REST, SOAP, and OData integration approaches.
• Experience with SAP AIF, in-app extensibility, and Adobe forms.
• Broad ABAP/4 development experience covering ALV reports, interactive and classical reports, OSS note implementation, Smart Forms, Menu Painter, user exits, BAdIs, RFCs, dialog programming, and the Data Dictionary.
• Ability to plan, design, develop, implement, and test ABAP solutions such as scripts, custom reports, user enhancements, dialog programs, and custom objects including Z tables and match codes.
• Experience supporting Fiori app customisation.
• Strong understanding of ABAP performance analysis and troubleshooting tools such as SE30, ST05, and ST22, with the ability to use them for runtime analysis, tuning, issue resolution, and capacity planning.

Preferred background

• Experience in the life sciences sector is preferred.
• High-level technical knowledge of SAP S/4 EWM and awareness of the product roadmap is preferred.
• Prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
• Additional language skills are welcome, although English is mandatory.
