Infosys is looking for an experienced SAP Finance and Controlling specialist to join its London-based UK team in a senior consulting capacity. This position sits within the delivery organization and is aimed at someone who can lead client engagements, shape solution direction, and support end-to-end implementation work across SAP S/4HANA Finance. The role is especially aligned to life sciences and pharmaceutical environments, where compliance, process discipline, and strong domain knowledge are essential.
What you will do
- Take charge of consulting assignments from the earliest stages of discovery and business-process analysis through to solution design, development, and deployment.
- Define the business problem, help uncover the right solution approach, and steer delivery teams on project activities, outputs, and implementation processes.
- Serve as a trusted technical and functional advisor during architecture and design reviews.
- Lead workshops focused on SAP S/4HANA Finance and Controlling, covering areas such as FI, CO, Product Costing, Profitability Analysis, and Project Systems.
- Translate life sciences business processes into SAP solutions while ensuring the design supports GxP and SOX compliance expectations.
- Design, configure, and deploy core S/4HANA Finance capabilities, including product costing, profit center accounting, cost center accounting, margin analysis/CO-PA, and project systems.
- Apply deep knowledge of Universal Journal, New GL, Asset Accounting, Material Ledger, actual costing, transfer pricing across multiple valuations, intercompany processing, tax and statutory reporting, foreign currency, and parallel ledgers/valuations.
- Support integration between SAP Finance and related modules such as Manufacturing (PP and PM), SAP EWM, SAP QM, and SAP MDG.
- Contribute to business development and pursuit activities by helping shape client proposals, advising on value, and defining future-state roadmaps.
- Deliver client training and help strengthen internal capability through knowledge sharing and enablement.
- Prepare and maintain key project documentation, including business blueprint documents, functional design documents, SOPs, and training materials.
- Use a structured approach to defect and issue management to support high-quality delivery.
- Work effectively across a global, matrixed delivery model and collaborate with distributed teams.
What the role requires
- Substantial SAP Finance and Controlling experience, including at least two complete S/4HANA implementation cycles.
- Strong preference for candidates with life sciences experience, with pharmaceutical background also considered highly relevant.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate design workshops for SAP S/4HANA Finance and Controlling topics.
- Advanced expertise in S/4HANA Finance concepts and configuration, including Universal Journal (ACDOCA), New GL, Asset Accounting, Material Ledger, actual costing, transfer pricing with multiple valuation, Margin Analysis/CO-PA, intercompany processes, tax and statutory requirements across multiple GAAPs, foreign currency, and parallel ledgers/valuations.
- Practical experience configuring and deploying product costing in both standard and actual costing modes, profit center and cost center accounting, margin analysis/CO-PA, and project systems.
- Experience supporting integration with SAP Manufacturing, SAP EWM, SAP QM, and SAP MDG.
- Preferred awareness of SAP S/4 EWM from a technical and roadmap perspective.
- English fluency is required; multilingual capability is an advantage.
- SAP S/4HANA Financial Accounting certification is preferred.
- SAP S/4HANA Management Accounting certification is preferred.
- Strong documentation skills, with the ability to produce BBPs, functional design documents, SOPs, and training content.
- Analytical thinking and a structured approach to solving problems and managing defects.
- A consulting and pre-sales mindset, including client advisory skills, the ability to communicate value, and experience helping define roadmaps.
- Familiarity with tools used in delivery and application lifecycle management, such as Solution Manager, JIRA/ALM, and ChaRM.
- Capability to perform well in complex, matrixed, international delivery environments.
- Personal qualities expected for the role include strong analytical ability, initiative, flexibility, customer orientation, attention to quality, and excellent communication skills.
