An opportunity has opened in Bristol for an Embedded Linux Software Engineer to join a small, established team working on engaging software development projects. The position is suited to someone with strong embedded software skills, solid academic credentials, and proven experience in low-level development for Linux-based platforms.
What you will do
- Work on software development for embedded Linux systems within a compact and experienced Bristol team.
- Develop new functionality and make changes to Linux drivers for embedded hardware platforms.
- Create Linux applications focused on video and machine learning workloads.
- Contribute to low-level embedded engineering tasks, including work that involves driver development and platform integration.
What the employer is looking for
- At least three years of professional experience developing embedded software in C.
- Hands-on knowledge of embedded Linux, including kernel configuration and development work.
- A strong academic record is preferred.
- Experience with low-level driver work would be a strong advantage.
- Background in video application development or machine learning application development on Linux-based embedded systems would also be relevant.
- The role is intended for a capable engineer who can contribute effectively within a small, well-established team.
Package and working style
- Base salary of £60,000 to £75,000.
