Graduate Technical Engineer-Student & Graudate Overview

Company Name TPP
Job Role Graduate Technical Engineer-Student & Graudate
Qualifications Bachelor’s (with 2:1)
Category IT Jobs
Job Type Full Time
Location Leeds

This graduate opportunity is designed for bright, technically curious people who want to start their careers in a broad engineering role. Rather than focusing on just one specialty, the position gives you the chance to learn across several areas of infrastructure and systems work, with training provided as you develop. You would join a close-knit technical team and help deliver technology that supports the NHS and healthcare organisations around the world.

The role sits within a fast-moving environment where the team is dealing with growth in mobile applications, artificial intelligence, and international expansion. The work is varied and hands-on, and it is suited to someone who enjoys solving technical problems, learning quickly, and contributing to services that need to stay reliable and available.

What you would do

  • Take part in database administration work for SQL Server, including improving performance, carrying out upgrades, and managing the environment.
  • Support cyber security and networking activities by researching approaches and helping put solutions into practice.
  • Work on hardware projects, including testing and upgrading equipment both on site and remotely.
  • Help scope, design, and build global infrastructure for mobile patient applications.
  • Carry out Windows and server administration tasks such as patching systems and testing performance.
  • Contribute to the design, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of services that are critical to healthcare delivery.
  • Work with colleagues to address technical challenges created by rapid growth in apps and AI as the business scales internationally.
  • Join technical conversations that may involve government-level stakeholders.
  • Travel internationally when required to assess data centres, plan new projects, and help determine the size and shape of future infrastructure.

What the company is looking for

  • A predicted 2:1 degree or above in a subject related to computing.
  • At least ABB/AAC at A level, with either Maths or IT included.
  • Strong interest in technology and a willingness to get involved in a wide range of technical work.
  • Enjoyment of problem solving and the ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced setting.
  • Readiness to learn on the job across multiple disciplines, since the role covers databases, networking, security, hardware, infrastructure, and server administration.

What you can expect

  • A salary of £60,000.
  • Training provided across all of the technical areas involved in the role.
  • The chance to work on systems that have a direct impact on millions of people through healthcare technology.
  • Exposure to large-scale, real-time systems, including one of the world’s largest real-time databases.
  • Opportunities to build experience across a broad technical stack rather than being limited to one specialism.
  • International travel for infrastructure planning and technical project work.
  • A team environment where your work contributes to important services used by the NHS and healthcare organisations globally.

Additional context

The company notes that it was actively recruiting during the COVID-19 period and that its staff were being treated as key workers while they continued developing technology to support the NHS. The posting also highlights that the team’s work is central to keeping critical systems running reliably and making a difference for people around the world.
