Lenovo is looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager to lead the delivery of sophisticated AI systems, applications, and model-development initiatives. This position sits within the Lenovo AI Technology Center, the company’s global center of excellence for artificial intelligence, and supports Lenovo’s move toward becoming an AI-first organization. The work is part of a broader effort to build next-generation AI technologies and platforms that can evolve with the rapidly changing AI ecosystem, including orchestration and collaboration across mobile, edge, and cloud environments.

The role is intended for someone who can operate as a connector between engineering, product, and other stakeholders in a fast-moving, globally distributed environment. A strong technical background is essential, because the role depends on the ability to understand complex technical topics and communicate them clearly to engineering and data science teams. The successful candidate will help ensure that AI programs are planned well, executed effectively, risks are managed proactively, and delivery stays on schedule and to a high standard.

What you will do

  • Work with cross-functional partners to define the scope, objectives, and deliverables for AI programs.
  • Create detailed delivery plans, schedules, and resource allocation approaches for technical projects.
  • Partner with engineering, product management, and other stakeholders to coordinate execution and keep projects progressing.
  • Use a broad understanding of the system and technical landscape to answer questions and help clarify requirements.
  • Identify, evaluate, and reduce risks tied to technical delivery, and help resolve issues quickly when they arise.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for stakeholders, providing consistent updates on progress, status, and blockers.
  • Track delivery metrics, compare progress against the plan, and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Look for ways to improve delivery processes so programs run more efficiently and effectively.

What Lenovo is looking for

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject.
  • At least 8 years of experience in technical program management, software development, or a similar field, with a strong record of delivering complex work successfully.
  • Solid understanding of software development methods, technical architecture, and industry trends.
  • The ability to understand and discuss AI and machine learning topics, especially large language models.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate well across different teams.
  • Practical experience with project management tools such as Atlassian products and delivery approaches such as Agile.
  • A project management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 would be beneficial, though it is not stated as mandatory.
  • Applicants must be based in Edinburgh, Scotland, because the role is only open to that location and requires regular office attendance.
  • The position requires working from the office at least three days per week under Lenovo’s 3:2 hybrid policy.

What Lenovo offers

  • Opportunities to advance your career and continue developing professionally.
  • Access to a wide range of training programs.
  • Performance-based rewards that recognize strong results.
  • A hybrid working arrangement that combines home and office work.
  • An electric car salary sacrifice scheme.
  • Life insurance coverage.
