Product Manager- Company Screening Overview

Company Name Bloomberg
Job Role Product Manager- Company Screening
Qualifications Not Specified
Category Finance Jobs
Job Type Full Time
Location London

This role focuses on shaping the future of Company Screening across the Bloomberg Terminal and related AI-driven experiences. The product area is being reimagined to support faster discovery, more adaptable screening criteria, more transparent results, and clearer paths into deeper analysis. The position sits at the intersection of product strategy, client workflow design, data architecture, and AI-enabled user experiences.

You will be responsible for understanding the full screening journey end to end. That includes helping clients identify which datasets are available for screening, designing tools that let them build and refine criteria with flexibility, improving the way results are reviewed and interpreted, and making it easier for users to track changes over time and continue into further analysis. The work also includes thinking about how legacy screening applications can be transitioned into modern workflows without losing client trust, transparency, or continuity.

This is also a highly collaborative and sometimes technical product role. You will work closely with Engineering and Data teams to decide how screening data should be modelled, cached, queried, and delivered so that large-scale workflows remain reliable and performant. In addition, you will look for opportunities to create reusable components that can support other screening use cases beyond Company Screening, including adjacent areas such as Fund Screening and Index Screening.

What you will do

  • Set and lead the product strategy for Company Screening across the Bloomberg Terminal, including how it integrates with AI tools such as ASKB.
  • Own the roadmap for the product, making trade-offs between client needs, commercial goals, technical feasibility, and migration work.
  • Break down adjacent screening domains, such as funds and indices, to find opportunities to standardise workflows through shared and reusable components.
  • Convert client feedback and business needs into clear product direction, detailed requirements, and well-ordered priorities.
  • Partner with Engineering, Data, and Product colleagues to build scalable screening capabilities that align with infrastructure and migration programmes.
  • Ensure that screening criteria, results, analytics, and workflows are delivered consistently across user interfaces, APIs, data products, and AI-enabled experiences.
  • Define how success will be measured and track the product’s impact through adoption, client engagement, data usage, workflow completion, and commercial performance.
  • Work with Sales, Support, and other client-facing teams to understand user pain points, validate product choices, and help customers migrate and adopt the new experience.
  • Help shape the transition from older screening applications to newer AI-enabled workflows while maintaining trust, transparency, and continuity for users.
  • Identify opportunities to build product components that can be reused across related screening workflows and broader financial data products.

What you need

  • Seven or more years of product management experience, or equivalent experience in company analysis, either through using company screening in your own work or by managing the development of company screening tools.
  • Strong knowledge of company data, including financial and firmographic information.
  • Understanding of private company data and the challenges involved in coverage, comparability, quality, and discoverability.
  • Exposure to funds, indices, or other related financial datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with data systems, APIs, data modelling, analytics platforms, or large-scale query environments.
  • Ability to operate effectively across technical and business domains and to collaborate with Engineering, Data, Sales, and Product stakeholders.
  • Proven experience setting product strategy, making prioritisation decisions, and delivering in ambiguous, cross-functional settings.
  • Technical fluency, sound judgement, and a practical, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg Terminal workflows, particularly Company Screening, Fund Screening, Index Screening, or similar tools.
  • Experience with AI-enabled workflows, natural-language interfaces, data discovery, or decision-support products.
  • A CFA designation or a comparable qualification is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills in both writing and speaking, with the ability to make complex ideas easy to understand.
  • The employer notes that the stated years of experience are only a guide and that candidates who can demonstrate the necessary skills are encouraged to apply.
