The teamâs platform combines risk, portfolio analytics, performance, portfolio management, order and trade management, post-trade, and compliance capabilities, all supported by Bloombergâs terminal and data.
This position is focused on expanding coverage and workflows for direct lending and broadly syndicated loans. The successful candidate will bring deep operational knowledge of the loan investment lifecycle, including security master modeling, loan trading, settlement, positions, lifecycle events, and performance management. The role requires close partnership with stakeholders across core product, product management, data, engineering, and commercial functions, as well as direct interaction with clients to understand their expectations, identify workflow gaps, and uncover new opportunities.
What you will do
- Drive product execution for private markets and loan-related capabilities within Bloombergâs buyside solutions, with a particular focus on direct lending and broadly syndicated loans.
- Advance the Total Portfolio View roadmap for private markets by setting clear, measurable milestones and helping coordinate delivery across global teams.
- Build a strong technical understanding of the buyside product suite, especially the parts of the platform that support loans.
- Work across Core, Product, Data, Engineering, and Commercial teams to align priorities and ensure a consistent approach to supporting loans across the organization.
- Act as the product representative in client meetings to better understand user needs, surface workflow issues, and identify areas for improvement.
- Write detailed functional specifications for each stage of product development, including objectives and key results where appropriate.
- Partner with product managers and analysts, particularly those in Enterprise Platforms, to maintain alignment and support delivery.
- Take an active, hands-on role in product design, development, and launch activities to help ensure successful outcomes.
- Collaborate with product analysts and software engineers to document business requirements that expand asset-class coverage and improve workflows across Bloombergâs buyside applications.
- Capture client workflows and release information in a way that supports QA, sales teams, and customers.
- Help position Bloombergâs buyside offering for private markets investors by translating product capabilities into clear, market-ready messaging.
- Contribute thought leadership that deepens internal understanding of private asset classes and the workflows associated with them.
- Turn market expectations and industry concepts into practical workflow and technology guidance that can inform operating model design.
- Promote innovation and collaboration across internal teams and with clients.
- Make complex private credit and loan concepts easier to understand by converting them into concise, usable narratives.
What the team is looking for
- Seven or more years of experience working with public and private loans in an investment, middle-office, or service-provider role.
- Strong knowledge of private credit funds, BDCs, and evergreen structures.
- Experience with investment technology solutions used by asset managers and asset owners, especially in loan modeling, trading, and operations.
- A solid grasp of capital markets and the investment lifecycle for private loans, including private credit and broadly syndicated loans.
- Understanding of the institutional market participants involved in private credit, along with the risk, analytics, and portfolio management needs of investment, operations, and risk teams.
- A track record of using data and technology to create solutions that are both innovative and commercially viable.
- Strong knowledge of private and broadly syndicated loan service providers, including clearing, settlement, agent banking, servicing, and lifecycle processing.
- Clear and effective communication skills for working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Preferred familiarity with Bloomberg buyside products such as AIM, PORT, and MARS, or experience with similar tools from other providers.
- Helpful background working with, implementing, or using comparable third-party solutions.
- Existing relationships with asset managers or asset owners involved in public and private credit investing or middle-market lending would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of investment lifecycle and accounting workflows is desirable.
- Experience guiding organizations through change and introducing innovative ideas is valued.
- A collaborative, consensus-oriented mindset and the ability to work effectively across teams and the wider business are important.
- Professional credentials such as CAIA, CFA, or the CFA Private Markets and Alternative Investments Certificate are welcomed.
