The team works to make sure Bloombergâs solutions are deeply integrated into client workflows across both the Terminal and enterprise products. It collaborates across a wide range of Bloomberg groups, including Bloomberg Intelligence, BloombergNEF, Enterprise Data, Engineering, Global Data, Legal and Compliance, and Sales.
This position is for a strategically minded Product Manager who can help shape and scale Bloombergâs regulation-linked and thematic sustainability data solutions. The goal is to create smooth, practical workflows for sustainability-focused users and firms by building content and product capabilities that support the full investment process, from screening and research through portfolio construction, risk management, regulatory reporting, and client communication.
Role focus
The role centers on sustainability datasets and thematic investing solutions that are aligned to regulation and market demand. This includes data and analytics connected to evolving sustainability rules such as EU Taxonomy, SFDR, CSRD, and SDR, as well as thematic datasets that help investors understand targeted exposure, alignment, or impact linked to sustainability themes. Examples include social and human capital themes, sustainable revenues, and other ESG-related thematic datasets.
As Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining, developing, and supporting Bloombergâs regulatory and thematic sustainability data solutions for Terminal and enterprise clients. A major part of the job is translating changing regulatory requirements, sustainability themes, investment use cases, and market demand into scalable product specifications, methodologies, data models, analytics, and reporting capabilities.
What you will do
- Set and communicate the product vision, strategy, business plan, and success measures for Bloombergâs regulation-aligned and thematic sustainability data solutions.
- Lead development of sustainability data products tied to frameworks such as EU Taxonomy, SFDR, CSRD, and SDR.
- Convert regulatory change, client workflows, market demand, and investment use cases into product requirements, methodologies, data models, and platform features that can scale.
- Identify opportunities to expand Bloombergâs sustainability offering through thematic datasets that provide exposure, alignment, or impact insights connected to sustainability themes.
- Prepare strong communication materials, including vision documents, product plans, roadmap materials, and executive updates, to keep stakeholders aligned on priorities and progress.
- Maintain regular communication across Product, Data, Engineering, Research, Legal and Compliance, Sales, and other stakeholders to support strategic alignment.
- Develop a detailed understanding of user types and workflows across the sustainable finance ecosystem.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, market participants, and regulators.
- Work cross-functionally to design, build, and launch regulatory and thematic sustainability data products and analytics.
- Write product requirements and methodologies that support use cases in regulation, thematic investing, screening, portfolio analysis, reporting, and enterprise data consumption.
- Own the roadmap for thematic sustainability solutions and prioritize enhancements based on client demand, competitive intelligence, data availability, and commercial opportunity.
- Ensure the products are scalable, transparent, auditable, interoperable, and consistent across Bloombergâs sustainability and climate product platforms.
- Collaborate closely with Data and Engineering through refinement sessions, planning, retrospectives, demos, and release cycles so that deliverables are clearly defined and aligned with business goals.
- Make prioritization decisions and trade-offs while accounting for technical, data, methodological, commercial, and resource constraints.
- Support launch readiness and go-to-market activity through documentation, methodology transparency, client-facing materials, training, and internal enablement.
- Create and improve product development processes that encourage collaboration across Product, Data, Engineering, Research, Legal and Compliance, Sales, Marketing, and other teams.
- Partner with Engineering and Data Operations to ensure work is well understood, technically feasible, properly governed, and aligned with business objectives.
- Work with Marketing, Sales, and client-facing teams to position, promote, and drive adoption of Bloombergâs regulatory and thematic sustainability solutions.
- Engage with clients to validate workflows, test concepts, collect feedback, and uncover opportunities to differentiate the product.
- Coordinate across Bloombergâs sustainability and climate product platforms to deliver interoperability, consistency, and a seamless client experience.
