The role calls for a senior leader who can combine strategic thinking, creative judgment, analytical rigor, and strong people leadership to shape how Google plans, buys, and executes media across the region.

Role overview

In this position, you will lead the Media Lab for EMEA and be accountable for the region’s overall media strategy, the transformation of media operations through AI, media-led innovation, compliance with regional privacy and regulatory requirements, and the execution of media campaigns. You will also be responsible for setting the approach, building internal alignment around plans, and managing agency relationships. The role requires close partnership with regional and global leaders across Marketing and the Media Lab so that work across markets remains coordinated, consistent, and effective.

The team’s broader mission is to connect Google’s technology with user needs in inventive ways. The work is expected to blend creativity and performance, using both historical results and current consumer behavior to continuously improve campaigns. A major part of the role is to rethink media buying and planning in light of changing technology and audience behavior, with AI playing a central role in how the team operates and innovates.

What you will do

  • Build and direct a pioneering media and communications strategy that expands the reach of marketing communications through stronger media amplification.
  • Lead the EMEA Media Lab’s AI transformation by creating a predictive, agentic media model and embedding generative AI and automated workflows into planning and execution from start to finish.
  • Improve business outcomes by optimizing for return on investment and helping accelerate the speed at which campaigns and initiatives reach market.
  • Serve as the primary contact for Google media planning across EMEA, working in coordination with the global Google Media team to maintain regional alignment and awareness.
  • Manage media agency partners and challenge them to elevate their work, innovate, and deliver stronger outcomes.
  • Work across Creative, Finance, Business Development, and Brand Marketing to align priorities and ensure marketing efforts are coordinated effectively.
  • Partner with regional and global Marketing and Media Lab leadership to maintain a cohesive, consistent, and optimized approach across the business.
  • Use both creative thinking and data-driven judgment to test, refine, and improve campaigns based on performance history, consumer trends, and cultural relevance.
  • Develop new media buying and planning methods that respond to shifts in technology and consumer behavior, with AI embedded at the center of the approach.
  • Strengthen communications planning so that ideas are not only what the team says, but also how those ideas are brought to life in market.

Minimum qualifications

  • Twenty or more years of experience in a marketing discipline, such as agency, client-side, or startup environments, with responsibility for managing multi-media advertising campaigns.
  • Experience working with businesses that are focused on product marketing.
  • Digital media experience, including work with Google ad products, along with experience in conventional media planning and execution.
  • Experience using AI technologies in consumer, business, and marketing applications.

Preferred qualifications

  • An MBA or another advanced degree.
  • Experience with cross-media measurement methods, including media mix modeling and related techniques.
  • Experience in large-scale marketing organizations, paired with the ability to move quickly and operate with agility.
  • Strong analytical capability and experience working with product-marketing-led businesses.
  • A reputation as an effective people leader who can motivate teams to perform at a high level and who brings a strong passion for creativity.
  • Relationships and contacts within major media organizations and publishers.
