This is a senior SAP consulting opportunity based in London, focused on SAP Finance and Controlling within S/4HANA. What the role involves

• Take ownership of consulting engagements from the first stages of business process review and problem definition through to solution design, build, and deployment.
• Act as a key contributor to solution discovery, helping define the overall approach and guiding the team toward the right design.
• Direct project teams on delivery methods, outputs, and work products so that execution remains organised and aligned to the engagement plan.
• Provide expert input during architecture and design reviews, using domain knowledge to influence technical and functional decisions.
• Support business development activity and pursuit work, including client-facing initiatives and opportunity shaping.
• Contribute to client training and help strengthen internal capability through knowledge sharing and enablement.
• Develop consulting solutions that help clients adapt to changing business conditions and industry demands.
• Lead workshops covering SAP S/4HANA Finance and Controlling topics such as FI, CO, product costing, profitability analysis, and project systems.
• Translate business processes from the life sciences sector into SAP solutions while keeping regulatory and compliance requirements in mind, including GxP and SOX.
• Configure and deploy core S/4HANA Finance capabilities, including standard and actual product costing, profit center and cost center accounting, margin analysis/CO-PA, and project systems.
• Support integration with adjacent SAP areas such as manufacturing, EWM, quality management, and master data governance.
• Create and maintain project documentation, including business blueprint documents, functional design documents, SOPs, and training materials.
• Use a structured approach to identify, track, and resolve defects and issues.
• Work across a global, matrixed delivery model and collaborate effectively with distributed teams.

Experience and technical background required

• Strong SAP Finance and Controlling background with at least two full S/4HANA implementation cycles completed.
• Life sciences experience is strongly preferred, and prior work in pharmaceuticals is also preferred.
• Deep practical knowledge of Universal Journal (ACDOCA), New GL, Asset Accounting, Material Ledger, Actual Costing, transfer pricing across multiple valuation views, Margin Analysis/CO-PA, intercompany processes, tax and statutory reporting across multiple GAAPs, foreign currency handling, and parallel ledgers/valuations.
• Hands-on ability to configure and deploy S/4HANA Finance features such as product costing, profit center and cost center accounting, margin analysis/CO-PA, and project systems.
• Experience supporting integration with SAP PP, PM, EWM, QM, and MDG.
• High-level technical understanding of SAP S/4 EWM and awareness of its roadmap is desirable.
• SAP S/4HANA Financial Accounting certification is preferred.
• SAP S/4HANA Management Accounting certification is preferred.
• English fluency is essential; additional languages are an advantage.
