Company Name Blackrock
Job Role Corporate & Strategic – Business & Technology Audit – 2027 Summer Internship Program
Qualifications Bachelor’s
Category Finance Jobs
Job Type Internship
Location Edinburgh

BlackRock’s 2027 Summer Internship Programme for the EMEA region is an eight-week summer placement running from June through August. The internship is built to give students a demanding, meaningful, and well-supported experience that is intended to reflect, as closely as possible, what it is like to work as a full-time BlackRock analyst.

The programme begins with an orientation that provides a broad introduction to the firm and includes the chance to hear from senior leaders. After that, interns move into practical, day-to-day work and receive training on the job so they can contribute directly to their teams over the course of the summer. The experience also includes a speaker series, mentoring, and a range of networking opportunities, including activities connected to employee networks.

What the internship involves

  • Joining an eight-week summer programme from June to August.
  • Taking part in an orientation that explains the firm and gives access to senior leadership perspectives.
  • Receiving practical training and contributing to real team work throughout the internship.
  • Participating in speaker events, mentoring, and networking activities.
  • Gaining exposure to the wider BlackRock environment and the possibility of exploring a future Full-Time Analyst Programme after the internship.

Who can apply

  • Applicants must be in the penultimate year of their studies.
  • Eligible candidates should be due to graduate in 2028 from either an undergraduate degree or a master’s degree programme.
  • Students from any subject area are encouraged to apply.
  • For roles in Continental Europe, candidates need to be fluent in the local language.
  • For Budapest, English is the only language requirement.
  • For positions in Private Markets Investing in Zurich, English is also sufficient.

Application rules and process

  • Each candidate may apply to only one programme in this recruitment cycle, for example the Summer Internship Programme or the Quantitative Master’s Internship Programme.
  • Within that single programme application, candidates may choose up to two functions.
  • Both function choices must be submitted through the same programme application.
  • If an applicant withdraws their submission, they cannot apply again to the same programme during the same year.
  • After submitting an application, candidates receive an email inviting them to complete a pre-interview assessment.
  • The pre-interview assessment must be completed within five days, otherwise the application will be withdrawn automatically.
  • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so early applications are encouraged.

The programme is available across the EMEA region, with countries listed as Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.
