BlackRock is offering a 12-month placement opportunity within its students and graduates hiring stream in the EMEA region. The programme is designed for students who are due to graduate in 2029 and whose degree requires them to complete a long-term internship or placement. The role gives participants the chance to join a specific team, contribute to real work, and experience the firm’s culture and operating style while building practical knowledge in asset management.

What the placement involves

  • Join a designated team for the full placement period and support that team’s work in a meaningful way.
  • Set objectives for the year and work toward completing them during the programme.
  • Gain exposure to BlackRock’s culture, ethos, and broader working environment.
  • Develop new skills and build experience in the asset management industry.
  • Use the placement as a stepping stone toward future opportunities, including the possibility of applying to the Full-Time Analyst Programme after the placement ends.

Application rules and process

  • Candidates may apply for only one programme type in this recruitment cycle, such as the Placement Programme or the Summer Internship Programme.
  • Within the chosen programme, applicants can select up to two functions, for example Investment Research and Analytics & Modeling.
  • Both function choices must be submitted through the same programme application.
  • If an applicant withdraws their submission, they cannot submit another application for this programme during the same year.
  • After applying, candidates will receive an email inviting them to complete a pre-interview assessment.
  • The assessment must be completed within five days of the email being sent; otherwise, the application will be automatically withdrawn.
  • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so BlackRock encourages candidates to apply as early as possible.
  • The application deadline is 30 September 2026.

Location and working pattern

  • The placement is listed for London, England.
  • Edinburgh is also shown as an additional location.

Equal opportunity and support

  • BlackRock says it is an equal opportunities employer and treats applicants and employees fairly.
  • The company states that it does not discriminate unlawfully and considers qualified candidates without regard to protected characteristics.
  • BlackRock also says it is committed to full inclusion and will provide reasonable accommodations or adjustments for individuals with disabilities during the hiring process.
  • Applicants who need support during the recruitment process are asked to email [email protected].

Additional notes

  • The posting is for job requisition number 12229.
  • Applicants are encouraged to submit early because review happens continuously rather than after the deadline only.
