This summer internship programme is an eight-week experience running from June through August across the EMEA region. It is built to give students a demanding, meaningful, and well-supported placement that closely reflects what it is like to work as a full-time BlackRock analyst. The internship begins with an orientation that introduces the firm and includes talks from senior leaders. After that, interns receive practical training on the job and are trusted with everyday responsibilities that help their teams over the course of the summer.
What the programme includes
- An initial orientation covering the organisation and insights from senior leaders.
- Hands-on training once the internship begins.
- Real day-to-day work that contributes to the teamâs output.
- A speaker series designed to broaden learning and exposure.
- Mentoring support throughout the programme.
- Networking opportunities, including events and activities with employee networks.
Who can apply
The programme is open to students who are in the penultimate year of their studies and due to graduate in 2028 from either an undergraduate or a masterâs degree. Candidates from any academic discipline are welcome to apply.
Language requirements depend on location. For roles in Continental Europe, applicants need fluency in the relevant local language. For Budapest, or for positions in Private Markets Investing in Zurich, English alone is sufficient.
Application rules and process
Applicants may choose only one programme in this recruitment cycle, such as the Summer Internship Programme or the Quantitative Masterâs Internship Programme. Within that single programme, candidates may apply for up to two functions, for example Investment Research and Analytics & Modeling, but both choices must be submitted through the same programme application.
If an applicant withdraws their submission, they will not be able to apply again to this programme during the same year. After submitting an application, candidates will receive an email inviting them to complete a pre-interview assessment. This assessment must be finished within five days; otherwise, the application will be automatically withdrawn.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so early submission is encouraged. The page lists the following deadlines for the relevant locations: London, Edinburgh, Paris, and Zurich by 30 September 2026; Milan and Amsterdam by 30 October 2026; Frankfurt, Munich, and Copenhagen by 13 November 2026; and Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuwait, and Riyadh by 31 January 2027.
Additional information
If the internship is a strong fit, candidates are encouraged to explore BlackRockâs Full-Time Analyst Programme, which may be available to apply for after the internship.
