Senior RF IC Design Engineer Overview

An expanding high-tech company in Cardiff is looking for a senior-level RF IC design specialist to join its growing team. The business has recently achieved strong commercial success, secured a number of new projects, and is scaling up quickly. This position offers a very flexible hybrid working arrangement and the chance to contribute immediately to the development of advanced RF and microwave technologies.

What you will do

• Take a leading role in developing RF integrated circuits, RF cores, and the related signal interfaces.
• Design and improve high-performance RF and microwave front-end and transceiver solutions for complex communications systems.
• Create important circuit blocks such as low-noise amplifiers, quadrature mixers, low phase-noise PLLs, transmit chain stages, PA driver stages, switches, attenuators, VCOs, and amplifiers.
• Contribute to the development of RF system-in-package solutions and multi-chip module architectures for different target markets.
• Share your technical knowledge with junior engineers and help strengthen the capability of the wider group.
• Support the company’s continued growth by helping deliver innovative work across new projects.

What the employer is looking for

• Several years of practical experience in analogue, mixed-signal, RF, and microwave IC design.
• A proven background in RF product development.
• Strong knowledge of RF architecture, circuit design, simulation, and verification.
• Experience with high-frequency layout and semiconductor process technologies, including the use of PDKs.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, especially in a small team that is growing quickly.
• The ability to contribute effectively from day one and work well in a fast-moving environment.
• An interest in building new technology and helping a business expand.
