This summer internship is an eight-week programme running from June through August across the EMEA region. It is built to give students a demanding, meaningful, and supportive experience that is intended to reflect, as closely as possible, what it is like to work as a full-time BlackRock analyst. The internship combines structured learning with real team contribution, and it also includes opportunities to build relationships across the firm.
Programme experience
The internship begins with an orientation that introduces the firm in detail and gives interns the chance to hear from several senior leaders. After that, interns move into their teams and receive practical training on the job. Throughout the summer, they are expected to take on day-to-day responsibilities and contribute directly to the work of their teams.
In addition to core work experience, the programme includes a speaker series, mentoring, and a range of networking opportunities. These networking activities also include events with employee networks, giving interns a broader view of the organisation and its people. Who should apply
The programme is aimed at students who are in the penultimate year of study and who are due to graduate in 2028 from either an undergraduate degree or a masterâs degree. BlackRock welcomes applicants from any academic background, so there is no requirement to study a particular subject.
Language expectations depend on location. For roles in Continental Europe, candidates need to be fluent in the local language. In Budapest, English is sufficient. English is also the only language requirement for positions in Private Markets Investing in Zurich.
Application rules and process
Candidates may apply to only one programme in this recruitment cycle. Within that single programme application, they may select up to two functions. The application for both chosen opportunities must be submitted through the same programme application. If an applicant withdraws, they cannot submit another application to the same programme during the same year.
After submitting an application, candidates receive an email inviting them to complete a pre-interview assessment. This assessment must be completed within five days. If it is not submitted in time, the application will be withdrawn automatically.
Applications are reviewed as they arrive, so early submission is recommended. Location-specific deadlines apply for different cities, including London, Edinburgh, Paris, Zurich, Milan, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Munich, Copenhagen, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuwait, and Riyadh.

The internship is offered across multiple EMEA locations, including cities in Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom. Cities listed include Amsterdam, Belgrade, Brussels, Budapest, Copenhagen, Dubai, Edinburgh, Frankfurt, London, Milan, Paris, Riyadh, Stockholm, and Zurich.
The programme runs during the summer months, specifically from June through August, and is structured as an eight-week internship.
