As part of Google Cloud’s go-to-market strategy and operations organization, this role is focused on helping the business plan, prioritize, and execute in a more strategic and transformational way. The position works across a broad set of internal partners, including Sales, Customer Engineering, Finance, Marketing, Partners, and Google Cloud Consulting, and is intended to support the business through trusted advisory work, structured problem-solving, and leadership of regional initiatives.

The role sits within the EMEA strategic initiatives area and is responsible for helping land global Google-wide programs in the region in a way that creates real business impact. It combines strategic thinking, operational leadership, executive communication, and data-driven decision-making. The successful candidate will be expected to operate in ambiguous situations, influence senior stakeholders, and help drive productivity and execution across multiple workstreams.

What you will do

  • Partner with cross-functional teams across Google Cloud to help plan and run the business, bringing together perspectives from sales, customer engineering, finance, marketing, partner teams, and consulting.
  • Lead and coordinate strategic programs and initiatives across EMEA, including adapting global programs for local execution and ensuring they translate into measurable outcomes for the region.
  • Support executive decision-making on important business topics such as where to focus growth efforts, using analytical insights that are practical, scalable, and designed to improve productivity.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership by helping frame complex business issues, working through ambiguity, and supporting the organization’s most important priorities.
  • Own and coordinate regional strategic initiatives or individual workstreams, making sure they are delivered effectively and aligned with business goals.
  • Review, combine, and interpret information from different sources, then turn that analysis into clear recommendations that can be acted on by the business.
  • Measure initiative performance over time and prepare data-based updates and reports for senior leaders.

What you need

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience gained in the workplace.
  • At least 8 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: go-to-market strategy, sales operations, strategy and operations, management consulting, finance, or program management.
  • Experience with core business operations, such as annual planning, headcount management, business review processes, or target setting.
  • Experience working with executive-level stakeholders or clients.
  • Strong ownership of outcomes, sound judgment in decision-making, and the ability to solve complex, unclear problems while influencing others.
  • Preferred: an MBA or another advanced degree relevant to the role.
  • Preferred: strong analytical skills, including the ability to use tools such as financial models, Google Sheets, SQL, Looker, or similar resources to investigate problems, influence leadership, assess results, and improve recommendations based on evidence.
  • Preferred: experience creating reports and presentations that are adapted to the audience, asking strategic questions, and leading conversations that improve results and efficiency.
  • Preferred: experience working across functions and influencing without direct authority to deliver operational excellence, major initiatives, process improvements, and change management.
  • Preferred: knowledge of enterprise customers, cloud technologies, cloud products, and the wider market environment.
