This role is for an experienced Guidewire programme leader who can take ownership of end-to-end delivery across implementation, upgrade, and application support work for UK insurers operating in specialty insurance, the London Market, and the Lloyd’s ecosystem. The position is based in London and is described as a client-facing onsite role, with responsibility for guiding complex transformation work across the insurance value chain while keeping delivery aligned to business priorities, quality expectations, and programme controls.

What you will do

• Lead Guidewire programmes through the full delivery lifecycle, covering implementation, upgrade, and AMS/support engagements.
• Provide technical direction for Guidewire maintenance and upgrade activity, including solution and architecture design that follows established Guidewire practices.
• Make sure the platform is used effectively across PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and BillingCenter.
• Own programme governance by putting in place delivery frameworks, tracking KPIs, monitoring risks and dependencies, and keeping progress aligned with business objectives.
• Act as the primary contact for client leadership and coordinate delivery across business teams, IT teams, vendors, Guidewire specialists, and offshore resources.
• Plan and oversee execution from project start through closure, ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget, and to the expected quality level.
• Lead innovation and continuous improvement efforts, including automation, productivity gains, process optimisation, code quality improvements, performance tuning, and scalability enhancements.
• Manage distributed teams working in onsite/offshore and Agile or hybrid delivery models, with transparent reporting and clear KPI tracking.
• Define and implement a structured capability-building approach for the team, including upskilling and cross-skilling so the workforce remains flexible and ready for future transformation demands.
• Maintain high standards of delivery throughout the programme lifecycle and ensure compliance with delivery expectations.

What the role requires

• Strong overall IT experience, with proven success leading Guidewire programmes.
• Solid knowledge of Guidewire InsuranceSuite, including PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter.
• Good understanding of P&C insurance, specialty insurance, the London Market, and the Lloyd’s environment.
• Experience delivering Guidewire Cloud, upgrade, and AMS work.
• Background in large transformation programmes and multi-vendor delivery settings.
• Previous onsite client engagement experience in the UK or Europe.
• Strong client-facing communication, consulting, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively with business, IT, vendor, and offshore teams in a complex delivery environment.
• High analytical ability, initiative, flexibility, customer orientation, and attention to quality.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Guidewire certification is preferred.
• Programme management certification is preferred.
