The WW Consumables Private Brands team is building a worldwide portfolio of consumable products and is looking for an experienced Quality Manager to support product quality across the full lifecycle. The role covers everything from early-stage development through launch and into the management of products that are already live in the marketplace. The successful candidate will work across internal teams and external suppliers to help shape and maintain Amazon Private Brands’ quality approach.
This position is centered on making sure products meet the right quality standards at every stage. The work includes using customer insight to guide product development and improvement, checking product performance and quality characteristics, setting and maintaining manufacturing quality expectations, building risk assessment plans, handling corrective actions, managing audits and supplier relationships, and creating standard operating procedures and templates. The role also involves running quality programs alongside Food Safety and Compliance, Product Development, Sourcing, and other stakeholders.
The team is looking for someone with deep knowledge of consumer packaged goods manufacturing, excellent organization, and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate brings a practical, solution-driven mindset, a strong commitment to quality, and a clear focus on customer needs. Success in the role also requires the ability to lead and influence cross-functional partners, work well in uncertain situations, pay close attention to detail, and stay effective in a fast-moving environment. What you will do
- Take ownership of product quality end to end from the customer’s perspective, spanning concept, development, launch, and ongoing management of the assortment.
- Support the creation of new products and the improvement of existing ones so they better meet customer expectations.
- Work directly with suppliers to help drive product quality and improve outcomes for customers.
- Evaluate and help choose new products by comparing them with technical documentation, customer preferences, and expected quality standards.
- Maintain quality performance measures for the assortment in line with Amazon Private Brands quality objectives.
- Define, document, and keep current product and packaging specifications, tolerances, and testing plans.
- Develop, maintain, and revise SOPs and related templates that support quality assurance activity.
- Ensure supplier compliance with good manufacturing practice expectations and support factory quality audits.
- Lead corrective action work, including development, implementation, and closure of CAPs.
- Oversee product specifications, production approval for finished goods, traceability, supplier quality programs, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Build and review processes and tools that help suppliers meet Amazon’s internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
- Set, manage, and monitor performance metrics for suppliers, internal stakeholders, and Amazon customers.
- Manage supplier performance proactively to keep finished product quality consistent.
- Respond to customer review feedback and concessions by driving corrective actions with suppliers and supporting product improvement after launch.
- Work with other teams across WW Amazon Private Brands, including Quality, Category, Product, Instock, Packaging, Sustainability, Legal, and others contributing to project delivery.
- Travel as required to meet suppliers and Amazon stakeholders, with travel expected to be about 15% of the role.
What you need
- Hands-on experience in consumer packaged goods manufacturing.
- Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs, together with SQL knowledge.
- Experience working across both technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Background in program management or project management.
- Experience creating repeatable processes and improving them through automation or standardization.
- Experience defining and delivering program requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead, influence, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- A solution-oriented approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in ambiguous situations.
- A customer-first mindset and a consistently high standard for quality.
- Comfort working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to simplify work and improve operating methods, including with AI tools.
- Preferred experience includes end-to-end delivery with communication of results to senior leadership, leading process improvements, managing stakeholders at different levels, and building processes, schedules, and project plans.
