Amazon Business Payments & Lending is looking for a highly analytical credit professional to join its underwriting and portfolio management function. The team supports invoicing, working capital, and payment acceptance solutions for Amazon Business customers, sellers, and other small business customers. Its broader mission is to create payment and financial services that are trusted, useful, and easy to access for customers wherever they are and however they choose to pay.
This position sits within the Credit Underwriting and Operations team and focuses on making sound credit decisions for Amazon Business customers using a mix of manual review, risk analysis, and scalable decisioning processes. The work is suited to someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working across organizations, and helping build programs that can grow efficiently. The role reports to the Credit Operations Manager in London.
What you will do
- Review and underwrite medium to large credit requests for Pay by Invoice customers.
- Analyze customer financial statements and other relevant information to support credit decisions, including cases that require deeper manual review or exceptions.
- Assess risk across worldwide portfolios and develop or maintain metrics that help track portfolio health and performance.
- Help shape underwriting approaches and credit strategies for the overall portfolio and for specific customer groups.
- Support the creation of policies and product capabilities that improve both automated and manual credit decisioning and monitoring.
- Build and continuously improve a framework for credit adjudication and performance tracking.
- Design and document processes, mechanisms, and standard operating procedures that allow the team to scale efficiently.
- Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce credit risk.
- Work with product managers, data scientists, portfolio managers, and other partners to advance shared goals.
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and coordinate with cross-functional teams on important initiatives.
- Help manage service levels and ensure underwriting work is completed within required timelines.
About the team
The team is responsible for deciding whether Amazon Business customers are eligible for the Pay by Invoice product, both at the initial review stage and later through proactive or request-based reassessments. In doing so, the team balances the opportunity to support customer spending with the need to control credit exposure and reduce write-off risk.

- Experience building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively across teams and collaborate with colleagues at all levels of an organization.
- Experience with analytical tools and the ability to investigate data in depth.
- Comfort making high-judgment decisions in a complex and ambiguous environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a mindset focused on continuous improvement.
- Willingness to learn quickly and contribute in a dynamic setting.
Preferred experience
- Experience delivering results on large initiatives or projects that involve multiple functions.
- Experience working successfully across cross-functional teams and partnering with people throughout the organization.
